Oscar had another 1 hour walk with me today, he had so much fun running around and he made a friend on our travels, both bounding around and playing together, was adorable to watch π₯°

Second walk with the handsome Seamus.
Over 3 miles walked, with some running in the fields, a perfect walk πΎ

Hope everyone is well and coping with this heatwave we are having.
I have put together a few ideas below on things you can do with your pooch whilst we have this current heat. This will help give them mental and physical stimulation whilst staying safe out of the heat and at home.
πΎ Training - teach your dogs some new commands, or perfect those old ones. Not only will this give your dog some mental stimulation but it will also build an even greater bond with your dog.
πΎ Frozen Treats - something I do with Copper is full up a long with his some of his daily treat/food allowance, pop it in the freezer, and hey presto, a nice cool treat for your dog that will also keep them entertained for a good while.
πΎ Garden playtime - (please ensure that you donβt do this in the hottest time of the day and ensure that there is shade in your garden too) I recently bought some dog safe bubbles from Aldi, and they are great! Copper loves chasing and popping bubbles and gets rid of some of that built up energy. I did this with him early this morning, and have shown a little clip below π.
Get your dogs favourite toy, whether it be a rope to play tug of war or even a game of hide and seek and give them some one to one time while burning off some energy.
Just remember to limit your play time and donβt do anything to over exerting.
πΎ Indoor playtime - puzzle toys or interactive toys can keep your dog busy indoors and there are so many about! If you done have any at home then a great game I play with Copper is just using a blanket (preferably an old one that you donβt mind getting ruined - mine has been ripped to shreds over the time of doing this π) and some treats.
Spread the blanket out and start placing some treats on the blanket, roll the blanket once or twice so the treats are covered, and repeat until you have rolled the blanket to then end, tie it in a knot and away we go. This should keep your dog entertained for 15-20 mins and trust me it will
