Important information which will help you

A reactive dog is one who overreacts to certain stimuli in its environment. They may bark, lunge, or growl at triggers like moving objects, other dogs, or people. This behavior, though effective in their eyes, can be quite distressing for you guys

But don't worry! With patience and the right approach, you can help Your Dog feel safe and calm. Here's what to do:
Lower stress levels: Keeping your dog's overall stress low helps reduce reactions. Ensure they have a consistent routine and a comfortable environment.
Increase their sense of safety: Boost their confidence through positive reinforcement and gradual exposure to triggers in controlled situations.
Improve communication: Strengthen your bond and understanding of your dog's body language to prevent outbursts.
dogs are naturally more prone to developing anxious behaviors than others, but underneath the unwanted behaviour are often underlying emotions of fear and uncertainty “reactivity is normally linked to anxiety. The dog is reacting to something that it’s either been negatively exposed to in the past, or hasn’t been exposed to in the correct way. No matter whether it’s cars, dogs, people or even particular noises, the dog hasn’t been introduced to the subject in the correct way and that’s why it feels so unsure about it.”

Our Story

Hi my name is Eve Cullimore I own Close Bond Dog Training, I hold dog training classes every week in the South of Oxfordshire.I am a fully qualified dog trainer and behaviourist. My methods of training is using patience, persistence, and precision, using positive reinforcement being consistent with commands signals and rewards but above all making the training sessions interesting and fun for all dogs and owners. Working with dogs with behaviour modification has required years of experience and knowledge for all dogs they are assessed as individual cases. Using techniques to maintain a happy balanced dog.
