Most people have considered the impact lockdown is going to have on our mental health but has anyone thought about your dogβs mental health too?
Lack of exercise and stimulation can lead to psychological and behaviour problems and during this time it is even more difficult for a dog to have itβs normality.
So I thought I would share some examples of ways to get your dogs brain active! This in turn will actually use up excess energy! Have fun and enjoy watching your dog learn!
I have been using puzzle games with my dogs, there are so many on the market, you can use treats or their own food.
Scent training is also a good one! Along with general obedience training because the dogs are using their brains!
Why not play hide and seek games, with food or toys?
If you have a garden or outside space, use it! You could even set up your own dog assault course!
All these things are fun and bonding time for you and your pets.
Below are my demo dogs π my girls love having their daily brain training, we have a few puzzles which they love because they get food as a reward π€£
Just be aware, if you are using food, to take that into account when feeding their daily amount and lack of exercise during this time.
If YOU have any fun activities you are doing with your dogs I would LOVE to see them.
Stay safe
