I am once again collecting any donations kind people may have of pet food that Food4Pets can distribute to those most in need during these difficult times.
Pets are often a large part of the family or the only source of company and comfort for some of the most vulnerable members of our community.
We work with SCDA and local foodbanks to reach these members but are also happy to help others bought to our attention in other ways.
You can drop off donations at the amazing Dapper Dogs on Longridge Avenue who have supported us from day one.
I am also happy to collect any donations.

I am on a drive to ask the lovely people of Saltdean, Peacehaven and the surroundings area if they have any spare pet food or are willing to donate to our cause. We work with the local
Community supermarket to provide much needed pet food to support people to keep their pets at home.
Pets are a huge part of a family, are often the source of company for those living alone who are often our most vulnerable, and are a proven boost to mental well-being.
Shelters are overcrowded with pets being surrendered during these difficult times. Any small contribution you can make will make a massive difference to so many.
I am happy to collect any donations you may have or you can drop of at the amazing Dapper Dogs in Longridge Avenue who have supported us from the beginning

Thank you so much for all your amazing generosity. We were able to keep so many people with their beloved pets over the holiday period by using your donations to support those most in need.
These are awful times- and pets mean so much to so many people.
Let’s see if we can keep that decision whether to feed themselves or their pet away from the doors of some of our community’s’ most vulnerable.

What a fantastic way to finish a generous year of donations from our amazing local (and further!) community! Another great drop off to help keep some of the most vulnerable with their loved pets in these hard times. And there were even presents for the hoomans!! Special thanks this week to Terri Bushnell, Robin and Els Hinton and Brenda Hinton - you have all made such a difference!
Let’s hope we can keep going in 2023 and keep everyone with their furry friends.

Today we delivered over 500 servings of dog and cat food to support local people to stay with their pets during the hard times! So proud of our local community and beyond! Special thanks this week to Suzy Q Tee, Jon and Tracey Hinton and Justin King.

So proud of the people of Saltdean, Peacehaven and Newhaven. Thanks to your amazing generosity, we were able to drop off over 250 servings of dog and cat food at the community supermarket today who were absolutely desperate for it. Such an amazingly full donation basket at Dapper Dogs- thank you so much. And we used some of our financial donation to make sure we had the right stuff.
This week we are hoping to arrange support to the re-opening food bank in Saltdean run by the amazing Bridget By The Sea.

Heartbreaking section on ITV News this evening about the number of pets being surrendered to shelters- up 48%! 💔
Here at Food4Pets we are continuing to take donations at Saltdean Home and Garden and Dapper Dogs which we will ensure gets to people in need in the coming weeks. All donations are hugely appreciated!

So very pleased to say that today we dropped off almost 200 servings of pet food to the local community supermarket. That’s going to keep a lot of beloved pets with their owners in the coming weeks. So proud of our amazing community.

So pleased to say we were able to drop off our first load for distribution today!!
Great to see that straight away people were able to take away food to feed their pets.
I’m so very proud of the individuals and businesses of Saltdean and wider for their generosity and compassion at such a hard time for so many people. You are all amazing!!

We are proud to launch Food4Pets in Saltdean and Peacehaven.

What is Food4Pets?
Food4Pets has been set up by a group of local residents to support those who are struggling to feed and look after their pets during the cost-of-living crisis.
Pets are part of the family; they bring companionship, affection and mental wellbeing to so many, and it’s heartbreaking to see animals surrendered to local shelters as people are unable to afford to keep them.

How does it work?
Twice a week we open our doors to those struggling to provide for their pets to come and collect animal food kindly donated by our wonderful community. We also work alongside the local community supermarket.

What can you do to help?
There are donation points at the following:
• Saltdean Home & Garden– Longridge Avenue
• Dapper Dogs- Longridge Avenue
• 14a Hamsey Road (please DM me beforehand to arrange)
• We will collect any donations on a Monday evening if you are unable to drop off at any of the points

Please note that we can only accept dried and tinned food as we have no refrigerated storage.
