So that’s a wrap!! Four fun filled (mostly dry!) days at Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials!! 🙌🙌💛 The biggest thank you to Debbie Honychurch who held the fort, helped with the agility and generally coordinated us all!! Also to Kate Farquhar-Thomson who provided the most amazing commentary for the entire show as well as organising customers and keeping us calm! And finally a huge thank you to my big sis Cally Miller who helped to organise our wonderful customers and who fed us with amazing food throughout!!! Without you all .. I just couldn’t go!! You’re fabulous!! Xx

Red is a sweet 5 year old Cocker Spaniel in Suffolk, looking for a loving home 🐾

Red is a little nervous when you first meet her but once you get to know her she is friendly and loving. She loves swimming, which is great exercise for her knees, and she enjoys her walks (and has excellent recall!), though her exercise needs to be moderated as she has luxating patellas. Red’s perfect home would be one where she can enjoy daily water play, cozy cuddles on the sofa, and lots of love, she's full of life and eager to please. She can live with children over 12 and with other dogs or on her own.

Ragwort !!

So the Heart of England Forest (HOEF ) response is shocking as you can imagine. Can’t list the whole email here but key points they make:
1. Ragwort is increasing biodiversity and is home to 30 insects of which 10 use it as sole supply of food.
2. It is toxic if eaten but animals won’t because it doesn’t have an attractive taste. (WTF .. who’s going to take that risk with their livestock and their livelihoods?????) and btw … if horses are in limited pasture due to laminitis or other issues .. of course they’ll friggin eat it!!
3. Where ragwort is growing away from grazing and hay grasslands HOEF won’t control it. (SHOCK!)
4. They highlighted their own article on ragwort. Saying it is only toxic to horses if eaten dried and not in its natural from. COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY UNTRUE AND MISINFORMED.. look at what the British Horse Society say!!!!
5. No mention of impact on toxicity to dogs. (WTF)
6. They are under no legal obligation to do anything. (THERE WE GO!!)

So I suggest you get out there folks and take loads of ragwort pics where it is right next to farmland and hay grasslands. You won’t have to look far. Please send them your pics!!

My objective here: to get HOEF to control their ragwort. Simple.

Enough is enough. Just sent this to Heart of England Forest … feel free to add your opinions and send them on.
Dear HOEF
Please can you explain why you have allowed ragwort to run riot over your forests areas and farmland. Having lived locally for 25 years I can truthfully say I have never seen the area in and around Dorsington Long Marston Pebworth as derelict, forgotten and shockingly badly managed to the point is it’s impacting upon my land and others like me.

You allow dog walkers to walk through toxic ragwort which cause liver issues for dogs that rummage in it and digest it. Never mine your and other farm animals and horses which by default are now eating it.

What a disappointment . Having known Felix Dennis, he would be so sad to see his legacy left in such a state.

I look forward to hearing what you intend to do about it. I have left my phone number for communications.

If I don’t hear anything, then I will begin to look at other avenues to force some change.
