Knowing that you are going to have to say a final farewell imminently to your pet is distressing. Sometimes, being able to make a plan can help come to terms with what lies ahead.
At Forest Farewells we are here to help you make a plan and talk through what to expect before, during and after the appointment.
You can use our services alongside your normal veterinary provider.
We offer appointments in the evenings and at the weekend.
We try to be flexible as possible with booking appointments and take bookings from the same day to days/weeks ahead.

Last week, very sadly, I had to say a last farewell to my own gorgeous cat - Bella.
Bella came into the practice 12 years ago in need of a loving home, which I was very happy to give her.
Bella was with me through many major life events and handled everything with her own brand of aloofness mixed with mild curiosity!
Saying Farewell to our pets is so hard, they’re with us through so much.
Letting her go in the garden, in the sunshine, was the perfect way to thank her for all that she had given me. 🐾🌈🐾

Introducing the Forest Farewells team….
Susie Smith is a vet and founder of the Forest Farewells Service. Susie has worked for 15 years in first opinion small animal practice and still works locally.
Claire is a veterinary nurse, also with 15 years experience, working in first opinion small animal practice and referral hospitals.

Forest Farewells was set up due to a strong belief that, if possible, being able to say a final farewell to a pet at home can greatly reduce some of the stress and anxiety associated with the end of life process.
Saying goodbye at home also allows other pets to say a final farewell, something that can really help with the grieving process.

Weekend and evening appointments also allow family members to be present, allowing everyone to say their final goodbyes.
