🎉🐾 Boswell's Big Transformation! 🐾🎉

Everyone, meet Boswell, the adorable 5-month-old Cockapoo, looking dapper after his very first haircut! ✂️🐶

Boswell has officially graduated from my Puppy Club, where we worked together to build his confidence and happiness in the grooming salon. Through gentle introductions and lots of positive reinforcement, he’s become a pro at staying calm and comfortable during grooming sessions. 💕🐕

And just look at him now – what a transformation! From his fluffy puppy coat to a fresh and fabulous new look, Boswell is ready to strut his stuff in style. 🌟🐾

I’m so proud of him and the journey he’s taken to make grooming a fun and stress-free experience. Here's to many more grooming sessions with this little superstar! 🐾✨

Case Study: Coco the Cockapoo – From Fearful to Fabulous

At Sitting Pretty, we have the privilege of meeting so many wonderful dogs and their owners, and each one comes with their own unique journey. Coco, a beautiful cockapoo, first came to us as a puppy. During her puppy sessions, she was a bundle of energy and full of the curiosity that makes young dogs such a joy to work with.

Unfortunately, after her initial sessions, Coco didn't return for some time. When she did come back, we noticed a significant change in her behaviour. She had developed a deep fear of the grooming process, particularly when it came to the dryer and having her legs groomed. Coco would snap at us and exhibit clear signs of stress and discomfort. It was heartbreaking to see her so anxious, and we knew we needed to take a very careful and patient approach to help her feel safe again.

Our Approach

The key to helping Coco was working at her pace and rebuilding her trust. We started by breaking the grooming process into small, manageable steps, rewarding her for calm behaviour and ensuring she always felt secure. For the dryer, we used desensitization techniques, gradually introducing the sound and feel in short bursts while providing plenty of positive reinforcement. With her legs, we focused on gentle handling and reassurance, showing her that she could trust us not to push her beyond her comfort zone.

Consistency was crucial, as a one to one groomer we could be sure to build a bond. We also worked closely with her owners, providing tips they could use at home to reinforce the progress we were making in the salon.

The Transformation

We are so proud to say that Coco's hard work and perseverance have paid off. Over the last few sessions, she has been a completely different dog—calm, relaxed, and happy. There’s been no snapping, no struggling with her legs, and no stress with the dryer. Watching her sit nicely and enjoy the process has been incredibly rewarding.

Coco’s story is a testament to the power of patience, understanding, and the importance of tailoring the grooming experience to each individual dog’s needs. We’re thrilled to have been part of her journey, and we look forward to seeing her continue to thrive.

🐾 Honey the Rescue Mini Poodle: From rescue to runway-ready! Honey’s transformation is a testament to the power of a little TLC. Her new look matches her sweet personality—pure perfection.

Remembrance Sunday: Honouring Our Brave, Four-Legged Heroes

Today, we pause to honour not only the courageous men and women who served but also the brave animals who stood beside them. From loyal dogs who carried messages and supplies to noble horses who charged into battle, their devotion knew no bounds. On this Remembrance Sunday, we give special tribute to our four-legged heroes who displayed the same courage and loyalty we see in their kind today.

Lest we forget.

As we remember, all who served, we at Sitting Pretty, send our heartfelt respect to those valiant animals who gave everything, then and now. 🕊️
