Evie is a beautiful shorthair black girl and Snuggles is a handsome Ginger boy
They both have lots of love to give and love being around people. They haven’t really been handled and picked up much and at the moment aren’t really lap cats, but I think will probably gain confidence with their new family. They are very bonded as you will see from the photos and spend lots of time curled up together, however they do sometimes play rough together. They will need outdoor access when appropriate to do so

This big Maine C**n fluffy boy has the biggest heart and would like a family with a big heart just like his! He loves purrs and head butts and likes to be brushed - this will need to be kept on top of. He likes rolling around on the floor for fuss and is a cat who likes company so someone who is home a lot would be ideal. It would be a privilege to call this boy your own!

Just to remind people who would like to home a cat from us we DO NOT home if you have an un neutered cat in your home, our whole being is based as most rescues is that all cats should be neutered to prevent illnesses, breeding and gives the cats a far better safer life.
You may not agree but as a responsible rescue who see the result both for males and females not being neutered it is what we stand by and will continue to do so, please get your cats neutered which is the responsible thing to do.

Nature : Pebbles needs a very special type of home. A quieter home where she will be allowed to settle in her own time. As you can see from the photos she is a very sweet girl. She was however very shy when she came to us and I’m sure until settled she will temporarily return to that . On her vet exam she was thought to have a low grade heart murmur. This is a grade 1 [the lowest type ,only detected with a stethoscope and does not show in any other way]. However, this may have just been a stress reaction which is very common when a shy cat attends a veterinary examination and the murmur may disappear.

Mia has had a rocky road, being shut away whilst pregnant and came from a multi-cat house, which has resulted in her being anxious whilst eating, therefore we feel she’s happier as the only cat.
Despite this, she is the sweetest, affectionate cat, and has never shown any signs of aggression. Given the time and space to settle ( a couple of days with her current fosterer) she will reward you with following you around with the cutest chirps, giving a soft paw for attention, also whilst chirping & purring. She loves to play with various toys - my morning routine usually starts with a game of mouse hunt, a firm favourite along with a laser pen.
She is still a little nervous with sudden movement and loud noises can lead to her hiding, so a calm, quieter home required. She also would like someone at home for part of the day if not all of it.

Danu is a beautiful girl but is very shy and can be nervous in new situations. She soon settles down if left alone for a while, and with patience and gentleness will end up snuggled in your arms. She likes to zoom around the room chasing her sister. Because of her nervousness we would like her to be homed with her sister, Bramley.

Bramley likes a cuddle in your arms but will let you know with lots of wriggles when she’s had enough. Bramley is very affectionate and will head-bump your legs if she wants attention and cuddles. She loves to play with her siblings but is also happy to play alone and gather up any toys.

This is now the only page for homing posts for Peterborough Cat Rescue. As such, we thought it would be helpful for potential adopters and the homing team volunteers, to give some tips and information about the process.
- The only way to apply for a cat or kitten is by filling in an application form. We do not reply to requests by message, we simply don't have the capacity.
-Please give your FULL address. A postcode only will equal your application being instantly ruled out. We need to be able to check the area you live.
- You don't receive an automatic message saying the application form has been received. This isn't something we have set up, but we are yet to have a situation where an application when filled hasn't arrived with us. Don't worry, it will be there.
- Please be patient. The homing team consists of 4 people. 3 working on the applications consistently and one as relief/back up. This is all around jobs, family and fostering themselves. We do aim to process applications within a week of a cat going up on fb, but a cat can be on for longer if no suitable applications have been received.
-Please read the cat/kitten bio fully. Unfortunately just because your dog has lived with a cat before, doesn't mean our cat that says no dogs will work. Please ensure you match the criteria we specify. It creates a lot of extra work for us when you don't.
- You won't hear from us if you have been unsuccessful. We simply don't have the capacity to contact everyone. We wish we did. We are trying to get a system in place to get in touch if you are suitable for adoption, but not the cat specifically applied for, but bear with us. In the mean time, please keep an eye out and apply for other cats you feel may be a match
- Finally, please remember we are here for the cats. Whilst we absolutely love it when we make you happy too, our priority is them. Our fosterers work hard to assess them and provide their requirements on their bios. We don't write no cats/children etc for no reason. This will be for good reason. Please don't expect us to magic up a cat great with younger children or dogs. We do have them come up, you just have to be patient and trust us to match you appropriately

A message about our requirements for cats available for adoption.
These are not rules we set, these are the requirements that have been made clear to us by the cats in our care. We are here first and foremost for these cats.
Some cats are handed over to us because they are unable to cope in the environment they are already in with dogs, other cats or children. We also have a wide variety of fosterers with their own dogs, cats and children and appropriately assess each foster cat to see if they would be suitable to be homed with other pets and children of different ages.
Whilst we would love to be able to say that every cat is suitable for everyone, this wouldn't be responsible of us as a rescue and would defeat the object of us being in existence. We would see many more returned for being unsuitable, or having caused more stress to the adopted cat and existing pets and children. We simply won't do it. Please stop saying we have rules in place when this isn't the case. We often home with young children and dogs when we have cats that will happily live alongside them.
We are here for the welfare of the cats and would be doing them a diservice if we didn't assess and home appropriately.

Heres just some of the things we ask during our our adoption process.

•At the point of submitting the application, is everybody in agreement to adopt a cat. If not please delay.
It needs to be right for all in the home.

• The whole adoption process takes less than a week. After interviews, our process is quite quick. Are you ready and available to view and adopt within 5 days of your interview?

• Rental agreements, make sure you have a copy of your rental agreement, all ready to send to us. It states how many cats you can have. Especially if you have a private landlord. We need to see this before any adoption takes place or viewing. We regularly have adoptions fail as private landlords refuse cats.

•Is your home ready and prepared for incoming felines, have you bought everything you need?

• Holidays and work, is now the right time to adopt, will you have time to settle your cat. Please do wait until after upcoming holidays so as not to disturb your new pet.

•Are you ready to committ to a cat or kitten for 15 to 20yrs? We see so many young cats handed in, please do seriously consider if ownership of a pet for 20yrs is what you really want.

• Can you afford a Cat, not just the daily food and litter. The monthly flea, worming, yearly Vaccinatons. Cattery or cat sitters. Unexpected illnesses and vets trips.

•We love nothing more than rehoming cats/kittens. To make our lives a little easier, please do ensure you are Ready and have considered all the above before submitting an application.
