Today I met some mammoth donkeys! Never trimmed one before but these were the best mannered donkeys! I bet if the wind were to blow hard enough that they would be able to take flight with the size of those lugs!! 😍 thanks Kay Inkster for trusting me with them!

Well that's me all finished work for 2024... back on the 6th of January... Thank you to all my wonderful clients and equine friends for your support, jolly gifts and kind wishes. I really am so blessed to have such wonderful folk to work for.

Couple of interesting jobs today. First a horse healing from surgery shod in vulcan evolution shoes to give heel coverage and ease breakover combined with a 3d half mesh frog support pad and DIM. Then a chronic laminitic cob in squish pads to help him me more comfortable when on hard ground. 😊

A great day today speaking at an open day up at equine unlimited. I did a hoof boot fitting demonstration and touched on taking horses from shod to barefoot. Met lots of lovely people and caught up with friends. A very jolly day indeed. Thanks for inviting me to speak 😊

Meet little miss Bumble bee the pygmy goat. I've known her since she was born and about a year ago she decided I might be fun to play with. Every time I go to trim her and her sister she likes to play... she's not being aggressive, she does it in exchange for a scratch. 😊

Here's a nice tip for a suspected abscess. This horse had been off for a few days, vet had been out and suspected an abscess but couldn't find anything on that day. I suggested that the owner clean and cover both feet in water, if one dried quicker than the other then there is a high chance of an abscess (or some other inflammation) sometimes only part of the foot will dry faster which can also give a location. I popped out the day after this photo was taken and found an abscess which had burst out of the coronet and it started to drain in the sole also. Just another tip to have in our tool box of figuring out what's the matter with our equine friends 😊

Here is fantastic Mr fox in his lovely high viz flex boots I fitted for his hind feet last week to give his feet a rest from shoes for a while. They fitted like a glove and he loves them 😍 thanks to his wonderful owner Sue Gaden 😊
