Dartmoor Zoological Society We're just 15 minutes from Plymouth City Centre. A unique zoo set in 33 acres of beautiful parkland just 20 mins from Plymouth.

We have a fantastic collection which includes an impressive selection of big cats, wolves, zebra, meerkats, tapir and much much more. Our restaurant serves hot and cold, drinks and meals and we can cater for all kinds of events, including weddings. The Chief Executive Officer Benjamin Mee wrote a book about buying the zoo called, We Bought a Zoo. This later became the subject of a major Hollywood

movie of the same name starring Matt Damon and Scarlett Johannson.

10 years on the zoo has been through a roller coaster journey but the conversion to charity in 2014 has strengthened it's future and opened up new and exciting opportunities.

๐ŸŒ Happy World Serval Day! ๐Ÿพ

As some of you may know, Churchill came into our care at the end of January after we rescued him from The Cat Survival Trust. The moment we learned about his situation; we knew we had to help.

We are thrilled to announce that as of Friday 14th March, we've welcomed a new resident, a female Serval named Sabra. Joining us from Port Lympne Wildlife Animal Park, they're now enjoying a stable and enriching forever home together.

Due to the rapid nature of this project, we've had to dip into our precious reserves to fund the development of their new habitat. Now, we're reaching out for support to help cover not only these initial costs but also the ongoing care for them both.

๐Ÿพ A New Beginning for Churchill the Serval ๐Ÿพ You may have heard about our latest arrivalโ€”Churchill, the serval cat. Rescued from The Cat Survival Trust following a conviction for animal mistreatment, Churchill has now found a safe and caring home here at Dartmoor Zoo. ๐Ÿ’š A huge thank you to Hertfordshire Zoo and The Big Cat Sanctuary for their quick action and hard work while helping to rehome 28 rare and endangered cats. Together, we're giving these incredible animals the future they deserve. โœจ Churchill is currently in an off-show enclosure during his 30 day quarantine, giving him time to adjust to his new environment and for our keeper team to monitor his behaviour and conduct welfare checks.
