The spring and summer is always a busy time for us and we're looking forward to attending some fantastic events with our Dorset Dogs Pitstop! 🐶

Heath Week is coming - Monday 29 July to Sunday 4 August and we'll be joining our friends at Dorset Heaths and partners to celebrate local heathland and its wonderful wildlife. Head over to the Dorset Heaths website for details: www.dorsetheaths.org.uk/heath-week/

On Wednesday 31 July we'll be at Upton Country Park for their Community Wildlife Adventure Day. We've got our space booked and will be setting up our Pitstop with a special dog walkers wildlife spotters board as well as free Doggy Goody Bags. More details here: https://uptoncountrypark.com/events/

We'll be joining our friends at Firewise UK at the Margaret Green Animal Rescue Country Dog Show on Sunday 4 August at the Church Knowle Rehoming and Visitor Centre, with great fun dog show classes to enter, as well as Rescue Dog Reunion, Doggy Dash, Have-a-go-Agility, Doggy Ball Bob and Doggy Lucky Dip to get involved with. We're so grateful to everyone who agrees with our ethos and way of thinking. A key part of our work is advocating for dog walkers and ensuring both dogs and their owners get the best deal in terms of access.

The other side is promoting wildlife friendly and happy, healthy, stress free walks - helping to look after Dorset's beautiful landscapes where we enjoy walking with our dogs and protecting the wildlife that calls it home.

We know how important dogs are for our physical, mental and emotional wellbeing and we believe if that goes hand in hand with responsible dog ownership there are strong benefits for the value, care and future protection given to our countryside, greenspaces and wildlife.

15 years ago we created our Doggy Do Code (an idea and model that has since been replicated across the UK) and to celebrate our anniversary we commissioned some feature animations.

It's great to have such a growing community of dog owners who recognise the value in a people in nature approach. Where we can make the outdoors a better place for people, their dogs and nature - working together for benefit rather than creating division.

Thank you for being part of the change - there are exciting things to come...
