We can guarantee the allicin content of 8% in our garlic. Without this enzyme it’s of little or no use as that of other garlic on the market this is why they can sell it & cinnamon so cheap. We have been in and around the horse world for over40 years and with our passion and love of horses, we researched the ingredients of garlic, cinnamon & oregano and benefits of feeding to horses and have come up with this unique formula PROTEK..... As we are all aware it is very important to maintain balanced microbial population in the equine digestive tract. A delicate balance exists among the different types of microbes that reside in the gastrointestinal tract.The products of forage digestion are volatile fatty acids, which horses use for energy. Horse cannot perform their best if digestive microbes are out of balance.In the horse, there are many types of bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract, and each type is efficient at digesting certain nutritional components. The microbial population is complex and consists of bacteria, protozoa, and fungi/yeasts. The number of microbes is too high to fathom, but one drop of cecal fluid from a horse could potentially have one billion bacteria.In general, there are five types of microbes:cellulolytic bacteria: digest fiberproteolytic bacteria: break down proteinlactic acid-producing bacteria: digest starchprotozoa: produce volatile fatty acidsfungi/yeasts: break down fiberother bacteria: produce B-vitaminsThese microbes are actually found throughout the entire digestive tract but because most favor a pH-neutral environment, nearly all inhabit low digestive tract, the cecum and colon.The goal of microbial balance involves keeping the numbers of cellulolytic high and the lactic-acid producers low. Further, as cellulolytic bacteria produce volatile fatty acids, proliferation of pathogenic bacteria, like E. coli or salmonella, cannot occur. If the lactic acid-producing bacteria population starts growing, they produce enough lactic acid to influence the pH of the gut, making it less hospitable for cellulolytic bacteria and more agreeable for the pathogenic bacteria. This is when problems may arise. How tolerant an animal is to changes in the pH before problems begin can be highly individual.Balance is all about population control. When there is an overload of one kind of substrate that one type of bacteria digests, then there is a population explosion of that type of bacteria. This affects the populations of the other types of bacteria, since they have less substrate to digest and the by-product of the digestion of the booming population may make the environment less habitable for the rest of the microbials. Shifts in the bacterial populations can cause digestive upset.How to keep it in balance? A normal high-forage diet (lots of pasture and/or hay) will supply the microbes with exactly what they are looking for to maintain balance, particularly the cellulolytic bacteria, protozoa, and fungi.Allicin is one of most high potency in antimicrobial activity and what mazing is that allicin is much less sensitive benefit micro orgasms compared to pathogenic bacteria, like E. coli or salmonella,Allicin can maintain the best balance of horse gut microbial populationsAllicin is from garlic but most garlic on the market do not contain much allicin due to high temperature process. Dr. James Tang, a veternary immunologist developed an innovated process which can keep 95% allicin after process and this technology has been widely used in animal feeding industry since 2010 Why allicin so important in our supplement PROTEK: Just one of our top scientists we have behind us. DR James Tang veterinarian & immunologist and also one of our consultants for PROTEK. This is why we at K & V Elite Equine Products Ltd always advise you to ask your supplier these questions to make sure you are getting the correct garlic so you get maximum benefit: Fresh garlic contains alliin (or precursor of allicin) and alliinase, when the garlics physical structure is broke, for example: Crushed or sliced, the alliinase is released from the cells and converts alliin into allicin. The Alliin/allicin contents vary depending on the harvest from different geographic locations and different species. Most garlic that is available on the market are hybridized garlic due to high output, which provide the big size and the nice appearance but allicin contents are low. Our garlic is selected from a special area in China called Cangshan which are the original species, not hybridized, sizes are relative small, output are low, with less than 7 cloves in each garlic bulb. More importantly, most commercial garlic processes decompose/denature the alliinase by washing,cutting and high temperature drying, so most garlic products only contain 1000ppm or 0.1% of allicin which has no values for biological function if taken. Dr. James Tang developed a unique process which allows dried garlic powder containing a great level of allicin (greater than 10,000ppm or 1%). Our turmeric has 95% curcuminoids! Did you know that most turmeric products on the market that claim to be high strength contain barely any curcumin - the component of turmeric that actually have any effect.
Always check the label! If it doesn't state the total amount of curcumin, it doesn't contain a concentrated dose.
Don't confuse the total amount of turmeric for the total amount of curcumin.
In order to get enough curcumin you need concentrate the turmeric and standardise it so that you're guaranteed to get the exact dose you need. Expensive, effective ingredients mean a more expensive end price.
