💙Tuesday 6th August💙

If anyone is looking for something to do with the kids this coming Tuesday - come along and support this event at Trafalgar School.

Once you have the kids tickets the entertainment is pretty much all included and all money raised on the day with go to Richard & family.

Having gone to school and worked with Richard this news is awful receiving a terminal cancer diagnosis for a 40th birthday and we have been seeing what we can do to help support this event. We will some of our staff there on the day helping out too.

There will also be a giveaway of tickets for two families to go to the event- we will share the link for this when available.

🩷Toff Update 🐾

Thank You again to everyone who has either come in to the shops or messsged sending well wishes for Toff and asking about her recovery.

She is slowly getting back to herself thankfully, we are very thankful to Purbrook Veterinary Practice Ltd to have her still with us and after two follow up visits she’s doing as well as could be expected.

We do also have news of a new addition to the Muttkuts family - 10 week old Goldendoodle Aurora “Rory”🩷 she has been helping Toff recover barely leaving her side and since having her Toff has got better each day too.

As so many people have been asking daily about our lovely Toff at both shops for her pregnancy progress, we had hoped to bring you some good news about the arrival of puppies.

However, due to birth complications she went into toxic shock and as a result devastatingly lost all 6 puppies, only emergency surgical intervention from the vet means she is still with us herself although she’s not out of the woods yet.

Our only focus now is trying to ensure she hopefully recovers.

APPOINTMENT AVAILABILITY ✂️

The demand for grooming appointments is ridiculously high at the moment and as busy as it’s even been. We are getting so many new customer enquiries every single day too.

Both shops currently are completely fully booked for the pretty much the entirety of June and the next spaces at Portchester are now not until past mid July!

Along with well over 50 people now on the waiting list for both shops it’s so busy it’s crazy!

We are unable to reschedule or bring any appointments sooner due to this yet we are still getting walk ins or call to ask for same day appointments which is just completely unrealistic.

Joining the waitlist via the website will ensure you get notified if any spaces do become available - it’s then whoever books the appointment first via the link that gets sent with the notification message.

We try to reply to all enquiries which come through on Facebook, Instagram, Google, Our website, Booking App, Emails, WhatsApp, Texts, Phone & Voicemails as soon as we can but it is hard to keep up at the moment.

As we have at last got some warmer weather, the demand for grooming appointments is incredibly high and other than Xmas times is as busy as it’s even been!

We are getting so many new customer enquiries due to recommendations too lately which is great.

Both shops are completely fully booked until mid June and we have over 50 people on the waiting list currently as well as getting more and more calls, emails and messages every single day.

Joining the waitlist via the website will ensure you get notified if any spaces do become available - it’s then whoever books the appointment first via the link that gets sent with the notification message.

For those wanting to book appointments for later in June or July - we would recommend doing so sooner rather than later and book at least two appointments ahead where possible so you have future bookings secured.

♦️Muttkuts Grooming Pricelist 2024♦️

While we continued to search around for all ways to reduce our costs, we do need to raise some of our prices to deliver the same high standard of care and service to you while ensuring we pay our team fairly (recognising a significant living wage increase and overhead/supply costs continuing to soar along with the dreaded VAT)

We have managed to hold our prices for the past 12 months despite all the challenges.

We have reviewed all prices and have kept any increases as minimal as possible with many remaining the same and it’s more of a levelling up with some prices to price accordingly for the size of dog and the coat type which dictates the time the groom takes. Having heard some of the prices some have been quoted recently has been a bit of a shock and we know the new prices are still incredibly competitive in comparison.

Dogs such as Yorkies, Shih Tzus will remain the same price. We are also now changing to a three tiered pricing for all Poodle / Doodle Mixes such as Cockapoos/ Cavapoos etc as the variation in size and coat type varies so much so now we will have a £45, £50(standard Cockapoo staying the same) and £60 for the bigger than average dogs.

For the first time too, our pricelist is published and can be found on our updated website at: https://www.muttkuts.com/groomingpricelist

Unlike many others, we want to be open and transparent with pricing and our full groom prices include a full service inclusive of nails, ears cleaned & glands with no hidden extra costs (unless fleas are found or excessive matting)

Unfortunately pushing out grooming frequency, could result in an further increased price as we would need to add matting charges after seeing a huge rise in heavily matted dogs coming in which adds so much extra time onto grooming appointments and unfair on the dogs to have to go through.

We have never been busier with both shops pretty much fully booked for the whole month already so thank you for the incredible support as always 🐾

We let you know a few weeks ago that we had been accepted as a supplier for the very popular and highly regarded brand - Millies Wolfheart

All varieties of this brand are free of: Chicken, Grain, Rice, Egg, Gluten, Beet Pulp & Any synthetic additives.

We now have a selection of the dry foods in the shop now as well as eight of the wet foods too, in comparison to some of the other brands we sell this is also incredibly good value with the wet foods all at just £2.17 per 395g tin and the dry foods starting from just £25.49 for 4kg (compared to Lilys Kitchen which is £24.99 for 2kg)

🎄 MERRY XMAS & THANK YOU 🐾 As we are now all finished for the festive period, we’d like to say thank you as always for the amazing support which has contributed to an incredibly busy month. Our brilliant staff across both shops have been absolutely flat out and they now get to enjoy some well earned time off. We’ve done a video hopefully owners will find of use whilst they’re unable to have their dog groomed. This is always good to get your dog used to being brushed and to keep their coats knot and matt free. We will be doing a series of these videos over the coming days and weeks. If there’s anything someone would like to ask about or advice on just comment or message and will look to do a Q&A video where I can answer all your questions, I haven’t seen some of you for while so would be good to know how you’re all doing and what your dogs are up to during this strange time for us all. Send us pupdates and we’ll share them too and do whatever else we can to interact with everyone and help pass some time and get us all through this 🐾

Hello thanks for visiting our page. I am Caroline, A fully qualified level 3 certified groomer. Having studied animal management at Sparsholt College working with animals is all I have ever wanted to do. Having always worked for the most popular grooming parlours locally the past 20 years as well as building up a loyal clientele grooming mobile, Owning my own parlour has always been the dream. As our three children are now at school, Having more time available was the perfect time and fortunately we have been able to build and found Muttkuts, Purpose built for professional grooming in a warm and welcoming calm environment allowing the right amount of time for each individual appointment to enable the best possible service for your pet, Whilst I get to do the job I love.
