As 2023 is drawing to a close, here from all of us at Ristol, we’d like to wish friends & family, near & far, a very Hapoy New Year!

Thank you to everyone that has been along the road with us through 2023. We had a brilliant year starting Standinghat Hermione’s ridden career which including a spin at The Royal Welsh in-hand and managing her first couple of ridden shows. We’re very excited about this mare for 2024.

Ristol Countess had her 2 year old season of education including a spin at The Royal Welsh and her mother, Ristol Cassandra, had been scanned in foal to Cascob Brynmor (Pennal Brynmor x Cascob Mothers Pride) for 2024 so we have lots to look forward to 💕

A huge thanks must go to the following for helping keep the horses welfare as it should be and we’ll be continuing to use throughout 2024;

Well that’s a wrap for The Royal Welsh Agricultural Society Show 2023. As usual it has all gone too quickly. So good to catch up with many friends from very near and very far and I really have had such proud moments seeing Eva back in that main ring for the first time since 2019 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿❤️

Very very proud of these 2 girls today. Although they didn’t get a rosette they had very constructive comments from the judge and it’s all about experience. Just being here with our home bred filly is so worthwhile. Now Eva’s going for round 2 tomorrow morning with Annie, who’s settled into her stable and with a lovely big feed.

It’s been such a beautiful sunny day as well so fingers crossed for the same tomorrow ☀️

Ristol Corrine was the first ever foal to receive The Welsh Pony and Cob Society Silver Medal and until quite recently she remained the only foal to receive this ❤️

We are very pleased to say that both Charm and Corrine who are now 32 and 24 respectively are still going strong at home with Cheryl and Mike Frith.

Mother and daughter reunited for a few weeks until Mother goes off to the stallion and daughter gets into the show ring. Both very muddy at the moment 🤦‍♀️🤣. but nice to see them out together for the first time in 10 months.

We would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year!

Although we had not shown much this year, it was certainly a massive honour watching our very own, Mrs Frith, do a phenomenal job judging the Welsh C’s in-hand at the Royal Welsh 💖

It was sad year at the end for us, saying good-bye to our Matilda. She will always be special to us 😞 but we are now excited to see what the year of 2023 holds for us!

Eva and Tom Frith are our third generation of the Ristol Stud. This is what Eva does at work when she’s not at home with the horses.

🌟Meet the Team 🌟

Eva is one of our receptionists and joined Fyrnwy in February 2022.

Within work, Eva’s main roles are answering the phones, booking appointments and organising zone visits. She also enjoys helping the clinic team where she can. Her main area of interest within the veterinary world is reproduction.

In her own time, Eva breeds and shows her own Welsh Cobs at county and national level shows, her favourite being The Royal Welsh Show. Eva also has a crazy, 8 month old, Cocker Spaniel called Wispa. She also loves spending time at home in the Welsh countryside.

Considering Ristol Countess (Tess) has lived out 24/7 since early spring and hasn’t seen a bucket for a while she’s maturing nicely and slowly…… a healthy way to spend her summer as a yearling.

But Tess will soon be coming in at nights and starting on hard feed…… she may even be ready for some winter or early spring shows 👌

So sad to hear that the Royal Welsh Show has been cancelled for the 2nd year running. The Ristol Stud holds so many great memories over the past 40 years and can’t wait to start collecting more memories from 2022 onwards.
