Knowsley Safari Warmly welcoming visitors for over 50 years. A stunning five mile safari drive, foot safari, events and talks on a wide variety of animals.

Our 550-acre drive-through safari is home to many animals from around the world. Opened in 1971, Knowsley Safari is now in its 50th year. One of the biggest and best safari parks in the UK, Knowsley Safari Park has a 5-mile safari drive with lions, white rhino and our infamous troop of baboons. The park also has a large walk-around area, offering close-up views of giraffe, tigers, meerkats and man

y more animals. The park is open daily from mid-February until November, and remains open weekends only throughout the winter. 🌿 Milestones this 🌿

As we welcome 2025, let’s take a moment to celebrate 2024! We’re proud to share that we conducted 46 native species surveys, covering bats, birds, amphibians, small mammals, pollinators, and aquatic invertebrates 🦇🐦🪲🐟.

⚠️❄️ While the safari looks magical covered in snow, the safety of our guests, staff, and animals is our top priority. Therefore we will remain CLOSED this Friday and throughout the weekend.

Despite our team working tirelessly to clear the snow and ice, the conditions are making it too challenging to safely reopen this weekend.

📣🪶🐤 Ringing in the New Year with a !

This summer, we teamed up with the Merseyside Ringing Group to start bird ringing, all under BTO licence! Using super light nets, we safely capture birds, record details such as age, s*x, weight and wing length and fit a uniquely numbered, lightweight ring to track their journeys.

Since then, we have recorded 40 birds from 13 species, with some making repeat appearances! This allows us to monitor their weight and health through winter, gain insights into their survival and find better ways to protect these amazing creatures 💛

She’s being closely monitored, and with the platelet-rich plasma (PRP) - using her own blood to enhance healing - she’s working towards the best possible outcome for her recovery 💉

Adventure Calls at Knowsley Safari

Opened in 1971, Knowsley Safari is now in its 44th year. One of the biggest and best safari parks in the UK, Knowsley Safari Park has a 5-mile safari drive with lions, camel, white rhino and our cheeky troop of olive baboons. (Remember to take the car friendly route if you want to avoid those naughty monkeys) The park also has a large walk-around area, offering close-up views of giraffe, meerkats, tapirs and now our brand new Amur Tiger Trail! If you haven’t got a car, don’t worry, you can still enjoy this fantastic walk around area or hop on the baboon bus for a guided tour of the safari drive. The park is open daily but please visit our website www.knowsleysafariexperience.co.uk for more details on our opening times. Plus here you’ll find out when our fantastic animal displays are.
