Thank you for taking time out to read my thoughts

Aquahome in Leyland have closed their doors

I believe that they are moving into online sales
I didn’t want to publish their name before they made it official as that would be very unprofessional of me

They were a great store of which I frequented as a hobbyist and honestly sad to see them go

But as we are all aware

Modern times have changed everything

A quick click and it’s delivered the next day cheaper than a bricks and mortar store can sometimes match
This tend is more directed towards higher end products

Our business is still Strong though
We don’t offer online sales

But we do offer polite no pressure sales
With proper information on anything marine associated our core business ( as well as tropical freshwater and pond species )

We are in comparison to the Big Branded Stores a smaller little fish in the ocean

But my thirty years of experience is free

And it’s you my friends that make it worth while

Your every increasing footfall has kept us in business for the last fourteen years of which we cannot thank you enough

Our holding systems are pretty full

And with current customer feedback we seem to be pretty cheap in our pricing of livestock

Plus we will try our best to price match any DD Aquariums that are offered online

Good evening friends

I would like to start by acknowledging that another local Aquatic Outlet has decided to close down their retail store

I’m absolutely sure that this wasn’t by choice and pretty sad from a company that I used to shop there as a hobbyist

Just the ever increasing livestock, staffing and overhead costs

It is also the same for us
As an independent business which doesn’t have the resources of finance behind us
Every call in customer keeps us going and is truly appreciated

We understand that online orders from well established companies can save you money

They can do this through bulk buying with smaller margins for retail due to their turnover

What they don’t sell online is expert advice on how to care for the inhabitants needs

You tube
Yes it’s informative with some sound advice
But also with conflicting information

We always offer 100% care for our clients

I got one wrong recently
My mistake overtired
And I’ve apologised sincerely as best I could

But I’m still proud to offer you guys the best marine stock and service in the Preston area

But we’ve made sure that’s there plenty left for call in customers

Brine Shrimp £1 per bag
Phytoplankton £1.50 per bag
Copepods £1.50 per bag
And we have plenty of River Shrimps available at £4 per scoop ( which is approximately 20 or more )

So a couple of things to mention tonight

Unfortunately the first one is my gripe

Tanked Up Marines is welcoming to everyone, whatever your race, colour or creed

We are also extremely proud to be able to advise you properly on how to look after your livestock with
5 star reviews on both Facebook and Google Maps

We care about what we offer
Always offering true informative answers before your new set up or livestock purchase

So my gripe?

I offer loyalty to the guys that shop with us
Obviously not all the time as exploring other stores is absolutely part of our hobby

But I’m afraid we are not Google
So many questions about problems from people that have never even walked through our door
We are Not Second Best for a reason

If you want to get into the aquatic world
Especially marines, and consider their wellbeing of importance

Then please just call in
You guys support us
And our pledge is to guide you correctly ten fold back

Don’t be miss sold
Don’t be miss lead
Don’t go to a till filling store

And please
Don’t message me unless you are prepared to call in and support us

On a final note on this subject

In the last ten years of us trading
Three large well established companies have closed down in our local vicinity

That kind of says it all
Once tried, I’d estimate around 90% continue returning on a regular basis to which we love you all for trusting in us

Final one friends
I’m afraid that
Unfortunately our loyalty scheme will be coming to a close at the end of this year
We tried it but as a bricks and mortar store
We found that that it wasn’t really working for us
Some receipts trying to be redeemed well after their expiration date
But more importantly
We just can’t afford to lose money anymore
Running a shop costs us a lot of money with utility bills
2024 has been a good year for us
But my friends
To keep us going in a sustainable manner
And you want us to continue to stock our diverse range
I’m afraid as said loyalty rewards will be discontinued
All of you that hold receipts within a three month period will be honoured up until the end of the year

Super expensive big brand names isn’t always our first thing to offer you unless justified
Of course we can supply you with them if required
But our goal in which we have many customers that trust in my advice is to offer more affordable options
All do the same job
Have the same warranty
But a lot easier on your wallet or purse
If we can make your aquarium a success
Does it really matter that much what brand name is scrolled across the product when hidden in a sump cabinet

Hi guys So some of you may already know that we’ve got a stunning Holy Grail Torch and two Fantastic Atomic Torch coral colonies available each with three thick stem double head branches Priced respectively at £499 for the Grail and £349 for the Atomics The video is when they first landed around five weeks ago They are bigger, brighter and stronger now that they have settled in So I’m in a position to start fragging them safely Honestly my IPhone camera isn’t the best and different lighting spectrums can effect true colours But that said you all know that I’m extremely honest when I say that these are great And also cheaper than any eBay sellers So all that said The Grail double heads will be priced at £175 The Atomic double heads at £125 If you’re interested then viewing is recommended around 2 / 3pm as my lights only come on at 11 So obviously they need time to wake up for full polyp extension Cheers Marcus and Chris

Every now and then we get something extra special to offer you Loving your Torch garden Or just wanting to add a masterpiece before Christmas Then please may I ask Anyone interested in a Holy Grail Torch colony or an Atomic Torch colony We have one very healthy Grail and two super Atomics available These don’t come around that often and are much sort after Of course this makes them premium in price I could frag them But cutting them up to me seems sad I understand that it makes them more affordable But it can be stressful to the animal So as they are The Grail is £499 The Atomics £349 Which is pretty cheap considering when single cut up heads range from £100 to 200 each Just to note These pictures were taken at 4pm when they have extended If you visit first thing when we open up tomorrow at 11am then they will be a lot smaller as our reef lights only start at 10.45 Also my camera isn’t of the highest quality So viewing is highly recommended Finally to add I’m not till orientated Special animals like these need extra care and preservation If you are on our reef care program then you are good to go If not then maybe it is something that you should consider Just bring in a water sample and we will analyse with professional kit Not inadequate dip testers as the others use 😩 We are the best marine specialists for a reason Because we care about our livestock and you

Evening peeps Thought that some of you might enjoy an update on the 2500 litre system that I installed and maintain Currently six months in now since it was switched on, and to be honest I couldn’t be happier with where we’re at Even with the extremely high stocking levels The water perimeters are stable in a good place as can be seen by the health of the corals both softies and LPS My dosing solutions are working perfectly And my client seems very happy with the results and service that I’m offering My apologies for the video I didn’t take my orange filter lens so everything is a bit blue I’ll try to remember next time I go to take it with me so that I can capture the full beauty that this aquarium has to offer Hope you like it guys Cheers Marcus 👍👍👍
