K9Cuts Preston Professional Dog Grooming Parlour. K9 Cuts was established by Karen Clarkson at the beginning of 2014.

Karen's background was in the hotel trade, but a love of dogs and the ownership of two lively cocker spaniels led her to re-train and focus on building her own dog grooming business. Karen is a qualified dog groomer and holds the Dog Grooming Diploma from the Canine Health & Hydro in Rimington, Lancashire. A brand new grooming parlour, based in Fulwood, Preston has been constructed meaning that yo

Sad day today……the end of 11 years grooming in my beautiful parlour and the room is now empty….John will be turning my parlour into “his” man cave, once he has removed all the built in units and the dog hair…😞 (most of it is Poppy’s)…..😆. X

I’ve lost count of how many cuddles and kisses I’ve received throughout the year, mostly from the dogs…🤣.

So day 6 and although I was tired, I had a lovely day of gorgeous doggies....
I started my day with Nala and Ruby, both lovely Cavaliers and a pleasure to groom. Enjoy your night with Auntie Alison & Uncle Phil.
Next in was Ollie a Cocker Spaniel, who is 16 years young and doing very well.
Teddy a Sproodle was after lunch and what a beautiful boy and a real Mummy's boy.
Last in was the adorable Pablo, who I always love to groom and he always loves my treats, which he had a few....xx

So today we have.......
Cosmo, a beautiful Orange Roan Cocker Spaniel. A lovely boy, who loves Scooby and is so gentle with him. He hasn't got a funny eye....I just haven't taken the best photo!
Harvey was in next, a Springerpoo, a lovely boy to groom.
Then there was trouble, little Minshi, a Miniature Schnauzer. She lives a few doors away, comes every 4 weeks and is a real challenge....
Beautiful Willow, a Lab/WH Vizsla is big, but I love grooming this young lady .
Last, but certainly not least was Poppy, a lab cross, who was only in 4 weeks ago, but oh my lord an amazing amount of undercoat came out today. Luckily John always helps to clean up after Pops, as her hair is everywhere.

Wine in hand, hot water bottle on my back....one more day to go......😉 x

So today we have....
The very handsome Rodney, who is a Miniature Schnauzer.
He came in with his brother Colin, but Dad arrived early and I forgot to take his picture!
We then had little, stubborn (very cute though) Bella, a Jackapoo, who definitely got out of bed the wrong way today!
Nellie, who I call "Naughty Nellie" was in and always challenges me, especially with her nails.
Teddy, a Cockerpoo, who's Dad stays as he can be very teethy with me. He doesn't like being combed or have his nails cut.
Then last but not least....Freddy a Sh*tzu, who also likes to show his teeth, when I'm "trying" to trim his face.

So a challenging day..... 🙄.

Thank you to Angela Callagher, Lynda Hardman & Stephanie Storry for donating their nearly new, dog coats, which I sold on to some of my customers this year.

Thank you to Barry Ingram for his Christmas card donations, which I have managed to sell a lot of, still have some lovely ones if anyone is interested.

I managed to collect £41.00 which enabled me to buy some lovely treats from the RSPCA wish list and send to them direct.

Another good day……but unfortunately had a no show…..😤…so just 4 in.
Jess who is a totally gorgeous Working Cocker was in first thing.
Followed by the extremely cute Cockerpoo Penny, who doesn’t really like her head drying….
Then we had the beautiful Working Cocker Ruby, who was a tad stubborn today.
Followed by the lovely little Wispa, who is a Cairn Terrier.

So another nice day……hooray.
We started the day off with the extremely handsome Henry, who is so well behaved and doesn’t hold back on the snogging…..
Then we had Buckley in, who was my first ever puppy Cockerpoo, 11 years ago……a challenge to get his face trimmed, but such a lovely boy. Make sure Bomber and Ned get their treats….
Puppy alert……the most gorgeous Labradoodle, called Otto came in today with my good friend Rita, he is nearly 5 months old and OMG………..I adored this young man. Everything was new, but he was so good. He just had a bath, dry, brush, nails, ears, spray and bow. He tried his hardest to make friends with Scooby, but he just wasn’t interested.
Then a very cheeky chap was in after lunch, little Archie who is just so cute…..
To finish the day off was the very good looking Jax, he doesn’t really like his legs being touched, but a few kisses to distract does the job! (Thanks Mum for the photo) xx

First day of a very busy week......we have........
First in....Handsome Monty, who has been coming for many years, but isn't a fan of his groom..but Scooby is always happy to see him as his Dad brings biscuits in to share.
Saffy, my friends Australian Labradoodle came in for her first visit, wow......a lot of hair to wash, dry and brush...but what a gorgeous girl.
Stubborn Millie......we get there in the end!
The very gorgeous Bloo, again another good friends dog. He loves his Auntie Karen, but doesn't love me cleaning his feet!
Then there was Reggie, who is extreemly cute, but extremely challenging......we now have a system to get him dry and cut his nails....but it's a secret...🤣. X

Another nice day…….and a busy week over.
I started my day with Harvey the Cockerpoo who is doing so well at 15 (his Mum was meant to send a picture…)
Then…..the gorgeous Finlay, a Parsons JR, he is a great transformation and stands so still.
Then Jess arrived a beautiful Cavalier-Cocker and she was surprisingly quiet today!
Boston who is such a lovely boy and a Blue Roan Cocker.
Peppa who is a Cockerpoo and such a good girl to groom, finished my week off nicely.
Wine in hand…happy Weekend everyone….x

Much better day today, just four in as I popped out to have my own groom today…☺️

We have the very cute Poppie who doesn’t really like having her hair groomed and especially not her nails.
The most gorgeous Otis, who is a pleasure to groom.
Barney Boo, who looks like you know who, so….yes I snogged him a lot, although he did have a farm smell to him…
Then…….last but not least Otis, who hasn’t been for a very long time and was very hairy, so a great transformation….

Here he is……..Rummy…….I would have liked a sleep after your groom, just like you….😤 x

Today was the day the raffle was drawn and my amazing, generous customers…..yes you lot……….(- a couple!) have bought tickets to the value of £806.00…..🥳which will be split between CancerHelp (Preston) Limited & Alzheimer’s Society. Thank you so, so much…………###x

Scooby has had a very restful Christmas break and as you can see, he is very ready to get back to work on Monday 9th Jan. We have both missed our wonderful customers. Happy New Year everyone. X

Last working day of the year, so my last customer of the year kindly chose the lucky winner of the Hamper. Thank you to every one who supported my raffle. You have all been totally amazing and so generous. We have raised a staggering £610.00 for Preston RSPCA and Dogs Trust. I will contact them both after Christmas and see how they would like to spend their pennies. X

So much for my new parlour assistant helping out....more like sleeping throughout.....it definitely is a dogs life! 💕 x

For all my lab owners.......Poppy had to be the hairiest one I've had in so far and wow.......I have found that chocolate hair floating around all week, as she was in last Saturday! Lovely girl though......X

Meet Harvey, his groom takes an hour and half and this is what he does for the entire time! If his Mum wasn't such a gorgeous lady, who makes me lovely soup and cakes and treats me to such fab Christmas presents, I might just have to reconsider being his groomer..lol! X
