PINK SKIN CHRONICLES

Although Luna is mainly bay, she has two white heels with delicate pink skin on her back legs, although minimal they like to be the bane of my life.

During the summer months, the skin can become irritated and scabs form from the dew and then during the winter months it’s mud fever.

The first image shows clear scabs that had formed this was mid September. AlvaMiracle was applied once a day and the second image shows the results a week later, the scabs had gone and the skin was still a bit sore. But then the weather took a turn and we had a consistent supply of rain and the mud the follows behind.
I then applied the miracle cream for three more days until the mud began getting worse and then applied the AlvaBarrier mud and rain protector, containing Teatree and Lavender so it still helps against the bacteria as well as reducing it from becoming worse again. Luna is living out 24/7 currently and even with the field now becoming very muddy in areas, the reapplication of barrier has been very easy. Applying everyday for a week and then once a week thereafter.
Cleaning the legs with a brush or cloth removing the surface mud and then reapplying the barrier once a week. The fourth image was taken this week Wednesday when bought in from the field, you can the scabs haven’t reappeared, the skin is not longer irritated or inflamed and the hair and regrown.

AlvaBarrier will now be applied once a week throughout the winter to help keep the mud fever at bay.
