There are some new shelves in the run now for the less energetic buns. Lizzo was standing up looking at Fido sitting on the platform at the top of the black slide tube, she is still too tubby to jump up that high so I put one step at the end of the yellow tube for them to jump up on, they can then walk along that and get on the next platform to hopefully hop up on the top one. After doing that I'm now spending the day recovering in bed though, we need a bunny slave here to help out with basic stuff like this 🐰💚
Finally got Nelly to use the treat toy, I'm not sure how Jeff survived on the streets of London though because he can't work out how to get free food. He probably used his good looks to beg for veggie burgers outside takeaways
Breakfast time for the girls. They are let out as close to 6am as I can. I get up then to let them out of this hutch. Rabbits should never be kept in a hutch without being able to have unlimited access to a large predator and dig proof run. Due to the regular badger visitors in my garden I shut them away in this hutch about 9pm and put the reinforced metal barrier across the doors. The run is locked with 4 padlocks to prevent any humans getting in.
6am before I had properly woken up the girls were having their breakfast. Off for their first ever vaccination later today. Rabbits need yearly vaccinations to protect them from lethal diseases. This is something every rabbit parent must know but pet shops don't bother to tell you. Google myxomatosis and rhd2 in rabbits for more information on these incurable terrible deseases
I just weighed Nelly, 6.17kg. she does look bigger than when she arrived

Back to bonding after 2 weeks of being in too much pain to give them another session. Donkey will join us when everybun has calmed down

A morning chill session with Marlon Bundo. It's nearly time to bond him with the gang of 4
New lad Marlon Bundo is settling in, before he came here he hadn't been with other buns so it was very daunting for him. Now he will lay next to the bedroom gang who are in a pen next to him for pre bonding instead of trying to attack 🐰💚
Fido prefers to steal hay, he has a rack full about 2 metres from there but I guess it tastes better when it's stolen 😂🐰💚
