During these cold, wet and muddy winter months, I know it’s tempting to want to keep more coat on your dogs. However this could actually be counter productive. When a dogs coat is soaking and muddy it will take hours to dry naturally. This will in turn end up making your poor dog soggy and cold for the day even after their time outside.

Longer coats are also more likely to Matt up if they aren’t brushed out and dried thoroughly daily. We always recommend shorter more practical trims in winter so that your dogs can enjoy their walks and owners don’t have a long routine of daily maintenance. Your dogs won’t be cold, I promise! There are lots of jackets and jumpers on the market suitable for your dogs shape and size. They are likley indoors for 95% of the day staying cosy by the fire or in the central heating anyway 😂

Don’t struggle with longer coats this winter, keep it short and practical, this can still be super cute whilst making everyone’s life a lot easier 💜
