✨ Supergroom South West 2024 ✨

What a wonderful day! Did something a little different this day and competed in the doubles class with .doggrooming and her lovely clients doodle Loki. Very pleased with our 1st place 🥇 as this isn’t a groom I would normally do 😂 very proud of the progress Phoebe is making with this groom and can’t wait to see the progression keep going. Thank you Kelly Davis for our placing and thinking so highly of our groom 🥰 also massive well done to Kelly and team for organising such a beautifully run show! Everything flowed wonderfully, the atmosphere was amazing and came home with some wonderful goodies from the goody bags! Oh and absolutely loving the socks 😅

I also picked up some other little bits that I can’t wait to use. Colin Taylor comb, Julie Harris coat management spray, some frills and basically the whole range of allergy shampoos and sprays from Nextmune UK which I’m excited to try on Benni to see if they help his skin.

Also massive shoutout to all the girls I’ve taught who keep turning up time after time and who just keep getting better and better, there’s too many of you to tag but you know who you are, I’m so proud to of been part of your journey and love seeing and supporting you all 💖

✨ Premier Groom 2024 ✨

No placing for me and Greggy yesterday in a very very tough Poodle Champion class, I am still pleased with what I managed to achieve in the hottest conditions I think I’ve ever groomed in 🥵 and obviously I’m taking the best poodles home 🥰 looking forward to Groomphoria in November which is my next competition with this handsome beast, at least it won’t be boiling 😂

Congratulations to everyone who placed and even just got themselves out there and into the ring, there are too many of you to tag but massive well done to you all, you know who you are! 💖

After yesterdays post I got a lot of love and messages about Benni which means the world to me so thank you 💖 but also people thinking I’m not coming to the competition at all, so even though me and Benni won’t be competing, me and Greggisaurus Rex here will be 😍 so I will still get to see you all and give my dino poodle a good haircut, he bloody well needs it 🙈🦖🐩

Me and Benni sadly won’t be competing at Premier Groom this weekend like I had planned as unfortunately he had a cyst/lump on his neck that got infected and ruptured causing all sorts of other problems along the way. He had to have it removed under general anaesthetic which terrified me as I haven’t had the best experiences with animals and anaesthesia! But I’m pleased to say he is all healed and signed off from the vets now so he is going to sit this weekend out and heal even more so he is ready for Groomania in September 🤞🏼💪🏼

Thank you to all my customers who I had to move around so I could be with my boy, he owes me nothing and will always come first no matter what 💖

Today I had the pleasure of spending the day with Sophie from and her gorgeous pooch, Beans 🐾

We had a lovely time giving Beans a slight restyle and worked on tweaking the shape of the overall groom to work with the shape of the dog and sort out the overall balance.

He was a very good boy and I think we can all agree what a great job Sophie has done and how handsome he is 😍 look forward to seeing you out in the competition ring ✨

✨🐩 Last minute training day cancellation 🐩✨

I have had someone pull out of a training day with myself this weekend, so am offering it out to anyone else who might be interested at a reduced price. I don’t have any spaces left now until November and even then dates are limited. So if anyone has a hairy dog that needs a groom and wants a bit of help doing so feel free to message me for more details 😊
I’m happy to help with Asian styling, Poodles, Workshop/Cockapoos. Competition or Salon standard.

I also have my mini poodle Barbie who is rather hairy if anyone wants to practice their scissor skills and a poodle trim you could possibly use her. Picture of her from a few weeks ago for attention 😊

So I’m going to do this weekend in two posts as I feel like little Chai here needs her own post! 🩷

Had a wonderful day on Saturday doing a 1-1 with .dog.grooming and her little mini poodle Chai. We worked on perfecting the shape and getting the overall balance sorted, as well as giving her a much needed haircut! Georgina also wanted to add a little extra into her groom so we opted for a tutu for now!

There is plenty of good things to come with this pair, Georgina is a wonderful groomer and little Chai is the perfect model 😍

Great British Grooming Show 2024 🇬🇧

1st place Asian Freestyle champ 🥇 super chuffed with this groom. I haven’t been in the ring with Benni yet this year so I thought I might be a bit rusty especially as I tried something new! But I loved every minute of it and he was a superstar as usual 🥰 well done for your placement too, I love being in the ring with you and seeing your gorgeous grooms come to life!

For those wondering yes that is his own hair turned into a bow and it’s still attached to his head! 🎀

Bathed in Oats shampoo and conditioner. First time trying this for a competition and I was pretty impressed. He has extremely sensitive skin and I have to be careful what I use but so far so good! 🫧

Well I think I’ve finally caught up on sleep and gotten over my crufts hangover 😂😴

What an amazing weekend I had! Firstly I got to spend it with two of my fellow groomers who have quickly become good friends and helped keep me sane over the past few months! Katie and Phoebee’ you are both amazing ❤️

Secondly I get to finally properly announce that I am indeed now a brand ambassador for ! I’ve used their products for years now in the salon and love everything about them along with the people behind the name, Sam and Jodie. They are the most lovely genuine people you will ever meet and I can’t wait for this year with them and my other amazing BA team members 😍

Lastly I would love to say a huge thank you for asking me to do a demo on the Houndsly stand at Crufts, me and Benni thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and I couldn’t believe the amount of people who watched us at Crufts and the live stream online 🥹

Couldn’t be prouder of my amazing boy either, the atmosphere is like no other and he stood like a champ for me 🐩💖

2024, 1st poodle champ and Best in Show 💖🥇🏆✂️🐩

Well I’m posting this over a week late as I’m still not sure it’s completely sunk in 🙈 but for sure last weekend was the boost I needed in my confidence to really go for it in the poodle classes this year, I’ve spent so long training behind the scenes to get better in this class and now I finally feel like I’m getting somewhere 💪🏼

Can’t thank my judges enough for my placings and feedback and thinking so highly of my grooms Denise Westbrook, Costin Stoica and Colin Taylor 💖

Thank you to all my friends and my mum who always support me and have faith in me even when I don’t 🥲 and to Greggys amazing owner Helen who has the enormous job of looking after this woolly boys hair for me in the wettest winter yet, you deserve a medal just of that! And for the best boy himself who is just utterly amazing and just falls asleep on the table and laps up all the attention, he was made for this and I have video evidence for that 😉😂

Also a big thank you to Katie Lesley Murrell and Phoebee’ Maee for being there and helping me out by holding dogs, loading/unloading the car etc. and for all the amazing photos! 📸

Well done to everyone else who placed or even just competed, it takes a lot of guys to get in that ring! Looking forward to the next one already! 😍

So today me and the handsome Greggy ventured out to attend a poodle workshop day with the amazing Yulia Marenkova. I had an amazing time and learnt lots of new things and solidified what I did know. It’s given me the boost I needed to have a proper go at competing in the poodle classes next year! Sometimes I forget that I’ve never been taught how to trim a poodle, I’ve only ever picked things up from pictures online and the feedback I’ve got from competitions so it was nice to have a more hands on approach for once to see where I can improve. We still need a bit of growth in a few places but looking forward to the next comp now 😍
