Copperbeech Cavies Show exhibitor and hobby breeder of Dutch Guinea pigs (Cavies) All of my Guinea Pigs are much loved, members of my family. I breed and show Dutch Cavies.

I have various colours of Dutch: Golden Agouti, Cinnamon Agouti, Black, Buff, Chocolate, Chocolate Agouti, Silver Agouti and Cream.

Today Joy weighed in at 704 grams!
She has not weighed over 700g since the 2nd January before her dental work.
She's doing really well now after a lot of ups and downs but I finally feel she's on the right track now 🥰🥰

Joy is doing so well and eating veg more enthusiastically and today I've not fed her by syringe and she's barely lost any weight, so must be starting to eat by herself! So happy and so grateful to everyone who donated to help her 🩷🩷🩷

I had a brain wave this evening. Joy still wasn't eating solids but was loving the baby food (root veg) that I was giving her. So I syringed it onto the kale, wow she went crazy! Was like a switch went in her head reminding her she can now actually eat, and she devoured a load of kale. To say I'm happy is an under statement!!

Joy is back on planet earth this morning and trying to eat some kale. She's taking her syringe food well. Now to keep everything crossed 🙏🙏🤞🏻🤞🏻

Update on Joy 🩷 I got her home quite late as she took a long time to come round. The vet was worried about her. She's had her teeth done. The Vet couldn't find any other cause of weight loss. So now it's hoping that she gets over the drugs and starts eating. I'm Syringe feeding her as well. Time will now tell, come on Joy you can do this 🙏🙏🙏
