So this little dude has finally arrived safe and sound!!! So happy for his owners, who have had a real journey with the ultrasound scans. First scan I saw 2 viable pups but one was smaller and I was concerned that this smaller baby was failing, even though there was a heart beating and development. Second progress scan confirmed this was the case and I saw just the one strong pup, who was looking as he should for his gestational age. Another progress scan was booked for mum and a different scanner saw her and said there was 2 viable pups!!! I was like really? I saw one and could not see anyone else hiding in there! So yes, I scanned mum again a day after wondering where could this second pup be?? I went over and over her and could confirm I could detect one viable puppy! And here he is, a singleton boy, who is melting hearts as I write this 🥰 💙 I have personal, successful experiences rearing singletons, that can be tricky! Did you know that statistically they have a 50% chance of survival? For me, a big factor in this is knowing when to get them out, if mum isn’t progressing well. I’m fully supporting the owners to get this little guy to the weaning stage. I’m here to offer help and advice to all of my customers xx
