Melodies Walk Please join us... Melodie was a much loved resident of Rockford Green, Ringwood and lived opposite the Alice Lisle Pub.

In 2025, Melodie's Walk will reach its 10th Walk milestone and we can't wait to celebrate in style and raise lots of crucial funding for Macmillan Caring Locally!! In 2015 Melodie was diagnosed with peritoneal cancer and after a valiant battle with the disease she passed away the following year. Within that year Melodie committed to a fund raising event in support of the Royal Marsden. She hit on

the idea of a 15 mile walk from the Alice Lisle Pub to the Royal Oak Fritham and back. This was a huge success and to Melodies delight, the support from her family, friends, the Alice Lisle and Royal Oak along with entrance fees, raffle tickets and an auction resulted in an astonishing £25,000 being raised. Sadly Melodie passed away a couple of weeks after this but we are so grateful she got to see the results of the amazing work she had done. In memory of Melodie her family and friends have continued this event for the local hospice, MacMillan Caring locally in Christchurch in recognition of the care given to her in the final days. To date the event has raised over £50,000. This year the walk will be taking place on the 10th May 2025, starting at the Alice Lisle, if you and your furry friends would like to join for a fun day please drop us a message and we will respond as quickly as possible.

Wow, the grand total for this years Melodie’s Walk fundraising reached just over £14,000. 😲🤯

From the bottom of our hearts we can’t thank each and every single one of you enough for joining us this year. 🫶

Whether you battled the heat and walked the 14-miles, joined us for the evening party, or did both, it truly was a day to remember and the fundraising total is something we are extremely proud of! 🥹🥾

There is nothing like a strong community and it was incredibly heartwarming to see so many people turn up to support the event and honour the legacy of our very special, Melodie Lomax! 💕

To all the amazing local businesses that generously donated raffle and auction items we can’t thank you enough and special thanks must go to our headline sponsor for all of their support 🙌

So that was the 10th anniversary! A fitting tribute to a special lady and a record sum raised for the fantastic 💚

⛳️If the golfers in attendance didn’t already have enough amazing raffle and auction items to get stuck into we now have two more fantastic auction lots… 🏌🏻‍♂️

🌟First up is a brilliant Taylormade golf bundle consisting of balls, hat, glove and tees very generously donated by . Just to make this package even more attractive they have also thrown in a £100 gift voucher that can be used on their online store. Although based in Ringwood, these guys are an online golf retailer supplying nationwide. So the next time you need some golf equipment give them a shout. ⛳️

🏌️‍♀️Our final golf offering comes courtesy of and . They have very kindly collaborated to offer a 4-ball at the stunning Hamptworth Golf Course as well as providing £100 in vouchers to spend in the clubhouse before or after your round. On top of this they have also donated a further £50 voucher which will be available in the raffle prizes. A truly epic auction lot once again! 👏

To all the incredible walkers joining us this year we just wanted to let you know that have just confirmed the Ploughman’s lunch options for Saturday’s walk.

💷 Please remember to bring CASH if you are choosing to pre-order your lunch. All orders will then be phoned across and prepared so that they are waiting for us when we reach our lunch pit-stop.

*note the famous pork pies are limited so get in quick and try to bring that extra loose £2.50 to help us with cashflow. 🪙

Whether you have been carrying an injury, blocking out persistent pain or just looking for a bit of TLC, these one hour therapy/sports massage sessions are a fantastic raffle item and will be very popular especially with our walkers after completing 14 miles on their feet! 👣
