We are very please that for the seventh year running we are holding the annual charity walk To date the event has raised around £50,000.

Melodie was a much loved resident of Rockford Green, Ringwood and lived opposite the Alice Lisle Pub. In 2015 Melodie was diagnosed with peritoneal cancer and after a valiant battle with the disease she passed away the following year. Within that year Melodie committed to a fund raising event in support of the Royal Marsden. She hit on the idea of a 15 mile walk from the Alice Lisle Pub to the Roy

al Oak Fritham and back. This was a huge success and to Melodies delight, the support from her family, friends, the Alice Lisle and Royal Oak along with entrance fees, raffle tickets and an auction resulted in an astonishing £25,000 being raised. Sadly Melodie passed away a couple of weeks after this but we are so grateful she got to see the results of the amazing work she had done. In memory of Melodie her family and friends have continued this event for the local hospice, MacMillan Caring locally in Christchurch in recognition of the care given to her in the final days. This year the walk will be taking place in the 11th May 2024, starting at the Alice Lisle, if you and your furry friends would like to join for a fun day please contact any of the following:

📣 On behalf of everyone involved with Melodie’s Walk, we just want to say a massive thank you to all the amazing local businesses that have donated some incredible raffle and auction items as well helping to promote the walk in any way they can. ⭐️

We are so grateful for your continued support 🙌🫶

This year’s walk attracted a record number of walkers and as ever Melodie done her thing and provided us with beautiful sunshine ☀️🥾🌳

Special mention to Melodie’s grandson, Archie who at just 8years old became the youngest walker to complete the full course…well done Archie 🙌👏

Next year will be our 10th walk and we look forward to going even bigger and better 👌💯
