For me, and probably for a lot of people, November feels like the countdown to Christmas has truly begun. It's no secret that I start thinking about Christmas as early as September, but as someone who also loves Halloween, I like to see Halloween come and go before I start really thinking about Christmas.

This November however, we've got bigger fish to fry (bigger than Christmas?! YES!) as we inch closer to the reality of buying our first house together. November always feels like the calm before the storm and this year, that feeling is amplified so right now, the things I'm grateful for this November are:

🧹An autumn clean and declutter (like a spring clean but in autumn...) to help us feel ready to pack up and move out.
🖋️ Pre-Christmas planning: every year I say I'm going to write my Christmas cards sooner than last year. Do I ever? No, but maybe this year will be the year.
🎂My niece's 4th birthday party. I cannot believe she is turning 4 already but she is! This pre-Christmas family time is well over-due since we didn't get to see everyone in the summer like we planned and I'm really looking forward to it.

Ah, Mr Jerry.
Mr I-don't-have-favourites-but-if-I-did...
I adore this sweet boy. One of my favourite things about him is how he puts his face in the palm of my hand when it's by my side to ask for some love 🥹 It really is the sweetest thing.

On the flip side of that, he also rubs his face against my leg to dry it when he's wet so there you go.

Finally! Where have you been?

Sorry guys, I took a week off! I am pleased to report that I am very well rested, very full of tea and cake and have now played more board games in a five day period than any 32 year old woman should ever play 😂

I'm back to it and now it's full steam ahead until Christmas. I always find this time of year flies by and I love it so much that I don't feel the need to slow down and rest like I do over the summer. Turns out Summer SAD (or backwards SAD as I used to call it) really IS a thing!

It's holiday time! 🎉
Watson, Archie, Barney and I have packed are bags and are on our way to the gorgeous Brecon countryside today to stay at the stunning .
I first found this gem a couple of years ago when we were looking for somewhere to stay after my friend's wedding but back then it was way over my budget. Things look a little different now so we're making this section of the vision board come true 💫

If anyone needs me, I'll be in the garden spa room...

Eddie surprised me the other week by stealing a ball from the Lemmy the labrador! Anyone who knows labradors knows they are all ball mad so for Eddie to sn**ch this out from underneath his nose was no mean feat 😂

And he looked so darn pleased with himself too! Just look at that cheeky face. The rest of the walk was spent with us all chasing Eddie, trying to get the ball back, much to his delight. This dog loves to be chased!

I love playing ball with Lucas - he has so much fun. When I first started walking him, I did my best to give him as much freedom on the longline as possible but one day I was playing ball with the others and letting him run to the end of the line when the ball bounced out of reach and he lunged after it, tearing the line from my hand.

Immediate worry that he was off free was instantly replaced by the pleasant surprise that he had no interest in running away, only in running after the ball. He run around and around with his prize and when he saw that I had a second ball to throw, came straight back, ready for another chance to chase.

It's funny how what can feel like a mistake can lead you into a new beginning. With a bit of bravery, I started giving Lucas more and more freedom with the long line and now he runs free with his friends, chasing the ball to his hearts delight. And the more we do it, the less inclined he is to seek out opportunities for freedom, because it's lost it's value to him. He's happy. I'm happy and I like to think his owner is happy too 💞
