A mini enriched environment for Happy today 🌸💦 just a tub of water and a pot of soil and a couple of new plants to smell … it’s really that easy!

An enriched environment provides opportunities for exploring, sniffing and engaging in new objects in with natural behaviours and sensory experiences

This mini activity encouraged Happy to sniff, dig, chew, taste, lick, bite, roll, feel different textures and temperatures on her paws and fur, and much more

It’s still hot here in the UK 🇬🇧 but our local private dog field provides plenty of fresh water to fill up the dog bowls 💦 and the new fully fenced dog field at Hatherton Cannock Chase, has plenty of shade and a beautiful space to explore with their small woodland area in the trees 🌲

1-1 training sessions available, just let us know if you would like to try this great new venue for a fully private session 🐾

It’s very hot this week here in the UK 🇬🇧🌞 heat can be dangerous for our pets

We recommend

- walks in shaded areas like woodland
- exploring around streams and lakes
- slow on lead sniffy walks instead of running or playing
- staying inside in the cool with the curtains closed
- providing water play in the garden

Or just casually sit in a water bowl for 10 minutes if you’re a water loving poodle like mine 🤣

I am very proud to receive my Professional Ethical Dog Trainer certification from Nordic education centre for ethical dog trainers today 🩷🐾

Continuing to study, learn and grow is incredibly important to any profession, and I’m proud of my education and qualifications, with up to date knowledge and skills

I am a passionate supporter of Nordic, and their international dog trainers school. I have been inspired for many years by their values, ethics and techniques that respond to our dogs needs and encourage natural dog behaviour and natural dog communication. It was an absolute privilege to work alongside and together with likeminded people from all over the world 🙌

Beautiful slow and calm on lead walks for our girls today, very relaxed with no pulling on the lead

We also managed a lovely walking pace for most of our walk today, even with Happy who is my more energetic poodle. A calmer on lead walk is a game changer for helping her to settle and relax better at home 🏡

Thankyou Mutts In The Hut Dog Grooming for caring for our girls yesterday 🐩 not only did they come home looking absolutely adorable but more importantly we can very much tell from their calm and settled behaviour last night and today that they were very well looked after. Kate provided a lovely calming environment, with plenty of relaxing breaks to avoid overstimulation inbetween grooming. Such a fabulous job!

Sunday socials are back! 🐾

Come and join us for Wellness Walks in a safe social group setting, in a beautiful and peaceful environment.

Behaviour and training support to help you navigate relaxed handling and gentle communication with your dog and to ensure calm and safe social interactions between the dogs

We will be working in small groups, mostly long lead handling, using distance to ensure the dogs are feeling comfortable

Shoal Hill, Cannock Chase, 11am every first Sunday of the month

Only £20 per session, booking in advance, payment link can be sent by messenger

Social Wellness Walks are open to all of our clients who are trained in The Ethical Approach to long lead handing

For any new clients, 1-1 sessions on ethical lead handling and relaxed social relationships will be required before joining the group 🩷

Dog AID are a fantastic charity that provide free assistance dog training to physically disabled adults through a network of volunteer dog trainers across the UK 😊 we volunteer one hour a week to help clients within the Dog AID scheme, aswell as our own assistance dog teams training with us at Ethical Dog 🐾
