A lovely 2 year old Springer Spaniel x Collie, currently in foster in Telford, England… and is looking for his forever home 🏡

Bailey is a bright, energetic and affectionate young dog that enjoys being outside. He is very intelligent and eager to please and would enjoy further training.

He lacks social skills due to not being fully socialised as a puppy - but he has learned to live with the resident dogs in foster and is now a happy member of the gang, he can also live with a dog savvy cat 🐈

This lovely boy requires a family that can bring some structure to his day, would enjoy training him and can also provide cuddles in the evening!

Poppy

We are looking for a home for lovely Poppy! The golden by colour and nature the 15month old labrador. She is described by her foster mum as an absolute joy to be around. The world is a lovely place through her eyes , and knows nothing but love and kindness from her previous home. Poppy is only available due to her owners suffering poor health and are unable to give her the active life she deserves. She gets on with all dogs and dog savvy cats (she wants to play) and hasn't got a malicious bone in her body. Poppy loves EVERYONE she meets, and she loves children, although care needs to be taken as she is still only young and could accidentally knock them over. She is perfectly house trained and is walking beautifully on the lead, although training will need to continue. Her favourite things are food and toys.

I have no words for this 🤬

Despite previous cross party support, today the Labour government blocked our Tuks Law bill without a single thought to the dogs and cats who have a Rescue Back Up registration on their microchips, not a single mention of the pets of domestic violence victims affected by this block which has now kept them in a situation where there is a continuing risk of their abuser being able to euthanise their pets because it is not mandatory to scan a microchip and check the microchip status, and no acknowledgement of the owners of pets who have had their loved ones euthanised by persons not registered on the microchip database.

That Labour have taken this action today is not only bitterly disappointing to us but it’s a failure to deliver a safe environment to the most vulnerable in our society.

We must thank Chris Vince MP for his help and support which so far has been great - but we have to ask …WHY are Labour opposing this bill?….is anyone prepared to contact their Labour MP and ask?

Rebecca Harris MP has always been a huge supporter of Tuks Law and we are so thankful that she has taken this up following James Daly’s excellent work and so to see it blocked by Labour before it was even heard is disgusting and to us it shows a blatant disregard for animal welfare and common sense.

If a healthy animal is facing premature death and there is an option available to save it… why would those in power choose not to support it

NWESSR is looking for an ASSISTANT TREASURER VOLUNTEER

✍️ A bit about this role
The Assistant Treasurer provides support to the Treasurer by carrying out specific tasks related to NWESSR’s finances.

✍️ What can you expect to be doing?
• Checking and paying by BACS purchase invoices including for veterinary treatment, kennel costs and training costs.
• Scanning and filing invoices into Dropbox
• Verifying dates of dogs coming into and leaving kennels
• Helping the treasurer to claim Gift Aid

✍️ What are the benefits to you and the dogs?
You will develop new skills, expand your knowledge, and make a significant contribution to improving the lives of Springer Spaniels. You will be part of a dedicated team of volunteers.

✍️ We’re looking for someone with
• Experience of book keeping an advantage but not essential
• Good numeracy skills
• Good communication skills
• Willingness to be part of a team
• Own computer to access emails
• Experience with Word and Excel, training and support will be provided
• Attention to detail and tenacity in following up issues
• The ability to use own initiative
