Today we welcomed back Dr Russell Mackechnie-Guire from Centaur Biomechanics for another of his incredibly insightful clinics.

All riders went home with super information and guidance to help their partnership continue to succeed, whether with a youngster working towards Badminton Grassroots, like Rupert (dun in the photos) or a veteran hoping to stay in work (lemon and white coloured in last photo).

A huge thank you to Lisa for organising, and to Claire Ewens for volunteering to help.

We are planning only two more of these biomechanics clinics for 2025!

Here is something a little different for you…Equi+Poise is hosting an exciting series of presentations and dissections this year at their site at Tollard Park Equestrian Centre next to the indoor arena!

Spaces are already going so be sure to get your spot secured quick!

We are excited to set up once again our evening talks and dissections, if you are interested please email [email protected].

An insightful piece to the colours horses see and their apparent preferences for colours of water buckets!

What colour buckets do your horses prefer?!

Horses can be strange creatures at times. Wickywickywheels has spent the night at Southwell Racecourse in preparation for her run there at 3.27pm today. She has had the choice of 2 fresh buckets of water all night and she has chosen to drink out of only 1 of them. She's not dropped hay or food in either bucket. Maybe it's just that her favourite colour is blue!

How is it Christmas Day this time next week?!

We had planned to do festive clear round this coming Saturday but we feel the warm up area will be just a bit too greasy for use, so we are cancelling this event.

We have been SO lucky being able to run clear round up to this point of the year and we are ever so grateful to everyone who has so far supported this and our other events ❤️

We are back in the new year with book a slot poles on 5th January and updated events calendar, and of course you can also hire our indoor arena 🎄

We LOVE having visitors coming to use our indoor arena, whether for private bookings or to attend a clinic/demo we are hosting ❤️

With increased use, we do need a couple of gentle reminders, please…
1. Park considerately so you are not blocking anyone’s exit. This includes not parking across our liveries trailers and boxes - they are regularly used!
2. Use the ‘longer’ route to enter the school with your horse. We have put tape across the ‘short’ route by the tree as it’s too slippery to use
3. Pick up poo from the arena and take your trailer poo home with you
4. Haynets to be kept inside trailers/lorries

Come walk the course with us @followers! This is the course for the XC simulation tomorrow - you have just over an hour to book in to one of the two remaining slots, which closes at 9pm tonight 🤩 Following feedback from our debut last month, we have numbered the course. However, all jumps EXCEPT for 6 (oxer) can be jumped from either direction, so we hope you enjoy having a play!

The course for tomorrows clear round is ready 💪🏻 Kirsty Tavener has done another outstanding course with lots of twists and turns 🤩 Starting with poles on the ground at 10am, we then go to raised poles, 30cm, 40cm and 50cm. Pay on the day available, please bring cash 💰 The warm up arena is outside and the ground is feeling great! Please remember to pick up your pony poo from the car park - I had to pick up two this afternoon that had been left behind by those using our facilities 🙄

I think Kirsty Tavener has outdone herself with this course for tomorrow’s book-a-slot!! 9 fences, including a double, an oxer and skinny, and it is full of twists and turns so be sure to ride your lines accurately 🤩

🤎💚 This might well be the course we are so far most excited about @followers!! For the simulated XC tomorrow Kirsty Tavener has put up the following: 🤩 shoulder brush x2 (minus brush, it fell out 😂) 🤩 hanging brush 🤩 coffin (ditch has green/brown tarp) 🤩 water jump (blue tarp) 🤩 tyre jump 🤩 skinny jump 🤩 barrels 🤩 corner jump Deliberately, we have not put fence numbers out as all can be jump both directions and there are a few that can be jumped at angles for unrelated combinations. We can’t wait to see what you think of our debut simulated XC, and if demand is there, we will host more in future 💚🤎 EquoEvents still taking bookings until 9pm tonight!

Kirsty Tavener has put together another corker for tomorrows book-a-slot jumping 🤩 It might be 7 fences but it has been designed so… 🦄 each fence can be jumped from either direction 🦄 the outside track is free for schooling 🦄 there is space around the fences for schooling BUT, please remember to… ✅ return things as you found them ✅ not move the wings ✅ report any damages to Ian on 07701 087804 ✅ pick up poo from the school using poop scoop and wheelbarrow outside arena door ✅ take your car park/trailer poo and hay home with you You are welcome to… 🥕 decrease/increase fence height up to 100cm 🥕 make the spread wider 🥕 turn the spread into an oxer 🥕 put fillers to the side to lower the fences BUT please return fillers and poles to the wings as you found them We have a full day tomorrow so please park respectfully (at the indoor arena - if you have to open a gate, close it because you’re about to enter the livery yard 🫣) and keep to your times 🥰 Have a great time, everyone 🥳 PS.
