ALFIE UPDATE!

Hello everyone!
A few of you have messaged me to ask how my old fella Alfie is getting on after his surgery yesterday so I thought I should update you!

Alfie’s surgery went well. Yay!!! 🎉
He had what is called Tibial Plateau Levelling Osteotomy surgery.
Basically, from what I understand, this was a degenerative condition due to his age (12 on May 6th), causing a tear in his cruciate ligament. The daily exercise he normally has just exasperated the condition needing him to have the surgery.
Once he is back on all four legs and fully healed after eight weeks of taking it easy, we can reintroduce short off lead walks again until he can slowly get back into the swing of thinking he is two years old again!!! We have been told the same thing could happen to his other leg but to not let that stop him doing what he loves doing best, being a dog and having fun!!!

Last night he was crying. He is not crate trained and does not want to sleep alone so I have set up camp in our dining room for the next six-eight weeks!!! I call that a win because he is now happy, with mummy by his side!!!

It was an all over close shave for this little lady today.
She is now running around as free as a bird after having the straight jacket removed.
(no angry faces or negative comments please). My customers knew and felt terrible. 🙂🐶❤️
