De-matting of a dog’s coat.
It is important to take your dog regularly to be groomed as this helps to keep your dogs coat and skin in good condition.
De-matting a neglected dog’s coat can cause a lot of stress and discomfort and is therefore sometimes required to clip the entire coat away for the benefit and welfare of the dog.
The coat is clipped close to the skin, which opens the risk of causing complications resulting in broken or irritated skin.
Removing a pelted coat is something I am prepared to do once, perhaps twice at most to enable your dog to feel more comfortable. This is because I work only on a ‘strict scheduled’ basis for those dogs with high maintenance coats’.
This includes and is not limited to poodles, bichons and their crosses. Every dog with a high maintenance coat will be given a recommended schedule time by me, dependent on their individual coat and how well you as an owner are managing to maintain their coat in-between visits
(I know we all lead such busy lives).
No judgement, just advice on how best to look after your dog’s coat.
