April Lodge Guinea Pig Rescue April Lodge is a registered charity and animal rescue which was founded in Kent in 2004 in response to the growing problem of guinea pig neglect.

Welcome to April Lodge Guinea Pig Rescue, Registered Charity 1121002, established in South East Kent in January 2004 as a direct response to the growing problem of guinea pig neglect. I would like to say a Big Thankyou to all our very special volunteers who have devoted their time into keeping everything in order at the charity, from hutch cleaning, to feeding 50+ hungry faces daily, to stacking bales of hay, to comforting those guinea pigs who have been dumped, abandoned abused and/or neglected, and to those of you who have made it possible for us to continue into our 21st year with your much appreciated donations.

Does anyone have any old newspapers that we could have? We are desperately short of them for lining the hutches. We have a metal dustbin outside that they can be left in at any time. Feel free to share this post with friends and family. All the piggies will be very grateful ☺️

Hi all,
We are looking for a voluntary receptionist to join our team of lovely volunteers on Saturday and/or Sunday mornings 9am-11am to welcome visitors, make appointments, and operate a card machine etc.

Sadly, we have two volunteers which have left due to personal circumstances. We therefore have voluntary vacancies on Monday and Thursday from 9am-11am, ideally suited for active retired people but all enquiries are welcome.
All Guinea Pigs are in an air-conditioned shelter with access to outside runs.
The shelter has toilet facilities and has off road parking.
We even stop for tea and bickies.
