Hi all, a little note from me 🐾

I will shortly be sending everyone a reminder of their appointments for this year as a way of avoiding any further no shows.

This week alone I have had 5 no shows, some of which are double bookings causing me a full day & a half loss of earnings.

As a polite reminder, we ask for 24 hours notice of cancellation or rearrangement otherwise there will be a no show fee to pay, this is usually the full cost of the groom missed. This policy can also be found within the salon and push back against the fee will sadly lead to no further bookings with myself in future.

We pride ourselves on treating every customer as part of our Fur Dos Family and it saddens me that I have to write this note at all.

Please do not buy. Throw them away if your dog gets one as a gift. Giving rawhide to a dog is never a good idea.

Many of these so called treats end up with the dog “enjoying” some time in a veterinary surgery over Christmas. The vast majority of these rawhide products and treats come from China.

The chews are made from cattle or horse hides and their journey starts with the hides being soaked in a toxic sodium sulfide to remove the hair and fat. More chemicals are used in order to split the hide into layers which is then washed with hydrogen peroxide to give the white “pure” look and remove the rancid smell.

Now comes the pretty festive colors and the glue to form cute shapes. On testing, these chews have shown traces of arsenic, mercury, chromium and formaldehyde.

If that wasn’t bad enough, they regularly cause intestinal blockages, poisoning from chemical residue and choking. The chews go slippery when wet and are near impossible to get hold of to save a choking dog.

FIREWORKS & DOGGIES

🎇 🎆 Classic FM are putting on calming music for our doggies to zone in on instead of those noisy fireworks.

🎇 🎆 Another top tip, happy hoodies can be purchased from most places online and this helps prevent lots of noise getting to your doggies ears. They look rediculous but can me very calming for them, simply put them over their head and ensure it’s secure over their ears. (Some may not like this being on their head so please judge based on your dog)

🎇 🎆 Lavendar scent spray is also useful or other calming sprays which you can purchase online or from pets at home. Spray in advance of the fireworks not as the fireworks begin, to help get them into a calming state of mind.

We understand that sometimes you can’t attend the appointments that you make.

If you are ever in this situation we ask for 24 hours notice. Otherwise a
cancellation fee of 50% of the price of the groom will be issued on the first instance, and 100% thereafter.

We attempt to be as understanding as possible by attempting to fill your appointment to avoid this charge, unfortunately this cannot always be done.

So pleased to make a difference to other people no matter how small the effort. 🥰

This lovely lady and her two doggies have been stopped in their tracks due to ill health. There regular visits meant the dogs had become accustomed to me and so, on a one off visit, off I trotted and made a home visit to get them trimmed and smart again.

So pleased to be able to help 🙏🏼

A tricky situation this morning for poor Boy who had caught his nail and tore it from its quick.

A short visit to me before the vets to remove the nail and avoid the need for anaesthetic due to his aggresive tendencies and voila! Good as new!

Well done brave Boy! ❤️‍🩹
