I will be doing the Lyke Wake Walk this summer, for the second time in less than a year... I must be mental!
Last time was for "fun", and it was in fact 23 hours of dark, wet, monotonous misery. 🤣

This time we are doing it a couple of days after the summer solstice (the longest day of the year), and are raising money for Alzheimer's Research UK.

For those who don't know, the Lyke Wake Walk is a 42 mile walk across the North York Moors, from Osmotherly to Ravenscar. It crosses the widest and the highest point of the moors and the challenge is to complete it in less than 24 hours.

I will leave the link here for anyone who would like to donate. Any and all donations would be greatly appreciated!!

Another beautiful sunny day with these gorgeous creatures 😍

I love winter. I never used to, but working outside all year round has given me an appreciation for each season. It's quiet and calm. Winter skies are crisp and clear. The air is fresh. You can see the shape of the trees more easily and the animals that are normally concealed by the leaves. I especially love it when the ground is frozen because it means 80% less time spent towelling muddy dogs! 😆
Winter also holds the promise of spring, which is probably my favourite time of year!

Does anyone else love winter or is it just me? 🤷
