Today is Jacky's 6 year adoptaversary!

I've only ever growled twice in my life.

Once was when I stole a whole ball of mozzarella from the worktop while a pizza was being made. Mum had to chase me throught the house and when she picked me up with it my mouth and I went "grrrrrr!" 😂

The other time was when Jacky first came home. He was too excited to stay in the spare room and slipped out. Ran straight up to me and wanted to play. Being an only cat at the time, I was rather shocked so I did a little growl! It didn't put him off though ❤️

The best and meepiest brother I could have ❤️🐈‍⬛ even if he does beat me evey time when we wrestle 😂

Happy Monday furr-ends! What an afternoon! I had to go back to the vets again as that annoying ulcer on my lip has popped up again 😒 I've had some more injections to help it go away for so we'll see if that helps.

My eventful trip included:
- Making myself the most awkward shape possible to avoid being put in the carrier.

- Getting barked at by a big dog in the waiting room. Mum says I pulled my most unimpressed face ever.

- Doing a big SCREM at the vet when he picked me up to weigh me. Like MC Hammer I also wear big poofy trousers and say "you can't touch this!"😂

I didn't get bitey though, was a very good boy ❤️

Since the sad passing of Felix on Sunday 3rd December, there’s been a number of enquiries and concerns raised about her state of health leading up to that point.

We would like to point out there was no major apparent evidence of sickness or illness, other than a “slowing down” which would be expected for a hard working lady cat approaching 13 years old. This slowing down accelerated quickly and necessitated a trip to the vets.

Felix was never one for allowing colleagues to pick her up (well, not unless they wanted shredded hands) and the vet found several tumours. It was agreed by all parties that the kindest, most peaceful solution was to put her to sleep.

We hope that this puts everyone’s minds at rest, so please no more questions or speculation.

Felix was well cared for and had a great life here at the station. She touched the lives of thousands worldwide. She will be missed, particularly by her colleagues.

Our purrents used to see Felix regularly when they lived in Huddersfield. She was a lovely cat, used to sit on the barrier and check mum's train ticket and have a little fuss. RiP Felix. 🐈‍⬛❤️

Felix and Bolt - The Huddersfield Station Cats

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Felix.

On Sunday evening, she peacefully went to sleep, in the loving comfort of Angie Hunte (Station Manager) and Jacqui Cox (Station Team Leader).

Felix joined TPE in 2011 and since then has left paw prints across the hearts of people from all over the world.

We will miss her dearly.

We please ask that if people would like to leave their words of sympathy they comment on this page and refrain from visiting the station. A fitting tribute and memorial for Felix will be organised in due course and the station team need time to process and grieve this deep loss.

There is NO official fundraiser for Felix, we instead ask that you consider purchasing the 2024 Felix and Bolt calendar (the link for this will follow later in the week) or donating to an animal charity directly in her name.

Please note that any links to fundraiser will be removed and members banned as we cannot guarantee where this money would go.

Thank you for all the memories Felix. Sleep peacefully.

23/11/2023 **UPDATE** Thank you to a good majority of you all for your positive comments about the animals you have rescued and telling us about the wonderful life they lead, but sadly due to roughly 10% of negative comments and the overwhelming number of comments in general which our Admins would love to get back to you personally about but it is just not feasible to do as there is so much more they need to do we have limited the commenting volume on this post.

This poem always brings tears to our eyes and an ache to our heart with feeling their pain😿

This is a poem for all animals not just cats and it is female animals as well as male animals it is not our intention to upset the members of the public or to point the finger at those members of society that have sadly circumstances for eg where a person has passed away or gone into a nursing home but very sadly those members of the public fall into the minority and this pertains to all animals that are callously dumped into pounds, left abandoned to fend for themselves etc, etc.
