We are opening our NEW SELBY branch this Wednesday! With that are in need of a Farm Admin Superstar to run this new branch. The practice will be open on WEDNESDAY ONLY in line with Mart Days. Your day will be varied and you will spend a lot of time chatting to farmers, ordering products and putting up farm orders as needed.

🐑Now is the time to start faecal egg counts (FECs) on February and March-born lambs, says SCOPS🐑

While roundworm activity so far this season has been relatively low, the Sustainable Control of Parasites in Sheep (SCOPS) Group says the recent temperature increase means this could change quickly on many farms, as warm, damp conditions encourage larvae to hatch from eggs and develop into infective larvae on pastures.

We have lots of herds carrying out annual screening and we've recently been finding a few PI's (Persistently infected) animals in herds around Teesdale.

key points for collecting a muck sample for worm egg counts:
🔵 Samples must be fresh when collected and kept cool.
🔵 Collect in a suitable airtight container/bag, take to vets asap.
🔵Collect a minimum of 10 samples from 10 different animals
🔵Approximately a teaspoon sized sample
