I have been caring for dogs since 2014 when I started working for a national franchise petsitting company as a pet carer. I now predominately offer a dog housesitting service in your own home where your dog(s) will be able to stick to their normal routine and enjoy their usual walks and cosying up on the sofa (if allowed) in the evening watching TV! I have a gorgeous 6 yr old rescue dog, a lab/poi

nter mix who helps me out too :-) He loves the company of other dogs and is very well behaved! I also offer other pet care services such as cat visiting when you are away to feed and spend time with your kitties and other small furries.

Deer collisions - a road safety warning 🦌

In the last two days our officers have sadly had to attend the aftermath of collisions resulting in the deaths of four deer - with incidents in Catterick, Whitby and Malton.

These collisions typically increase in spring time when young buck roe deer, like the one pictured here, move to new territories.

As well as causing terrible suffering to the animal, these incidents can also put human lives at risk.

When you're driving - particularly in rural parts of North Yorkshire and York - there are four important points to remember:
◾ Look out for deer warning road signs
◾ Stay alert, check your speed and be prepared to stop
◾ Take particular care from sunset to midnight, and the hours shortly before and after sunrise
◾ If you see a deer near a road, remain vigilant - others may follow

If you hit a deer while driving, don’t get out and approach it - it may hurt you, or run across traffic causing another collision.

Instead, park your car in a safe place with hazard lights on and call the police on 101, giving as precise a location as you can. (Call 999 if the situation means lives could be at risk).

We'll deal with road safety issues and officers will be able to determine the best course of action for the animal if it is still alive.

For many reasons not all dogs can be off lead with their housesitter or homeboarder so that's where these fully enclosed and safe dog parks come in handy and pooches can have a run around and expend some energy!

Great to be back housesitting but being a light sleeper a little dismayed to find this beautiful old Grandfather clock just below my bedroom which chimes every hour 24/7. A few times I wondered who was ringing the doorbell in the middle of the night but soon got used to it, as the owners said I would! Very funnily one morning I relied on the chimes to work out what time it was, miscounted and had an hours lie in 😴😄

Love the ethos of this rescue organization, almost worth moving to Manchester for to be involved with this amazing place - no dogs cooped up in kennels alone - here they rehabilitate each other, for some it's their forever sanctuary and others eventually find a new home 💕

Our Story

I am an experienced house and dog sitter. I also offer a home visiting service suitable for cats and small furries, birds etc and do ad hoc dog walking.

I have a gorgeous rescue dog, a sociable lab/pointer mix who is about 4 yrs old who will be helping me out too. He loves the company of other dogs.

Professional and totally trustworthy, DBS security checked and fully insured with a pet first aid certificate and continuing canine behaviour study I can come and live in your home whilst you are away so not only caring for your pets but looking after the security of your property, taking in deliveries etc and watering your plants!

Your dogs and cats and any small furries will be able to keep to their normal feeding, walking routine and cosying up on the sofa in the evening, if allowed!
