I do love a clean chicken house 😍
Good husbandry is so important, clean bedding is a must to prevent illness and mites. Ammonia is very harmful causing respiratory distress which if left can be fatal. Clean water every day to avoid bacteria and fresh food to retain minerals. 🥰 Happy hens lay happy 🥚
I only have a few girls left and I won't have anymore until the end of June, if you're looking to start your own flock or add to your existing one then get in touch, come and see my girls, you won't be disappointed 👌😊

Dalemor hatchery is able to look after your chooks on site, giving you peace of mind that they are safe, happy and well cared for, allowing you the freedom to enjoy your break 😍🌞🌡
Boarding residents will be kept separate from my own flock to reduce stress and eliminate any chance of illness or disease being spread. All boarders will need to have been wormed within 3 months before their stay.

Silver laced sebright chicks, 1 week old.
Sebrights are a very small bantam breed, friendly by nature, good garden birds as cause less damage than bigger breeds.

I'm now taking orders for point of lay hens available to leave from April 20th. All are guaranteed hens, fully vaccinated and wormed. Prices start from £20. I will also have a mix of coloured pekin bantams from this weekend.

The polish and serama chicks are 6 weeks old, fully feathered and getting ready to move out of the nursery and into the big wide world...dust bathing in the grit bowl is a good indication they are big girls now 🤣🤣

Chicks have been waving good bye and off to their forever homes over the past few days. I'm getting reports that 'Tikka and 'Nugget ' the polish bantams and 'Rhubarb and 'custard the light sussex are settled in and enjoying life to the full 🥰
It's so lovely to get feedback from new owners, and I'm on hand to help out with any questions or queries that may come up along the way 🐔

Last weekend I took in a very handsome white silkie cockerel, he was dumped in a field as was no longer wanted 😢 he wasn't happy by himself...so today I bought him 3 new wives...he's now very happy and super proud to have his own ladies 😍

If you're thinking about hatching your own eggs please remember the ratio of cockerels to hens is normally 50/50 very few people are able to keep the boys, rescue centres are full to the rafters with unwanted hatching projects and like this poor boy (now called clarence) they find themselves abandoned ☹
Hatching is great fun, very educational and a great privilege to be part of but PLEASE if you can't make provisions for the boys then don't do it 🐥🐣🥚🐓
