My third day of training and it was a mix of spicy and calm cats. I've learnt more about clipper work, maintaining equipment, keeping records, identifying potential health issues as well as learning more about their body language. I've really enjoyed the last few days of training and will soon be embarking on a Level 3 course in cat grooming to give me more knowledge and training so I can offer it as a service soon. 🐾

My second day of training and it was more full on and quite a few "spicy" cats today. I understand why cat grooming is a niche area in pet grooming, it requires a very different type of skill and it can be dangerous if the cats aren't handled correctly and they're more sensitive to noise, smells and just their general surroundings. I've learnt more about grooming, handling and just keeping the cat safe, happy and comfortable throughout their groom. I've really enjoyed it so far and can't wait to learn more as the training progresses. 🐾

So today I embarked on a training course with Absolutely Animals in London for cat grooming learning safe handling techniques, the correct tools and products to use depending on the type of groom required for the individual cat and learning about different coat types. I learnt how to safely and effectively remove mats and also did my first lion clip for a severely pelted coat. Can't wait to go back again next week and learn even more 🐈
