🎆 Bonfire Night Reminder!

Some humans might love fireworks… but most pets are convinced we’re under attack 🥲

A few easy things can make a huge difference:

• Walk early so they’re home before the bangs start
• Close curtains and pop the TV or radio on
• Create a cosy space — blankets, crate, favourite toy, the works
• Distraction treats are basically magic
• Check ID tags & microchip details just in case

And remember:
Comforting your pet is okay.
You can’t “spoil” a scared animal … you’re their safe place ❤️

🎃💥 Halloween & Bonfire Season is here — and not every dog is a fan! 💥🎃

Between spooky masks at the door, kids running around in costumes, unexpected bangs, and fireworks going off earlier each year… it can be a lot for our dogs to cope with.

I know many people struggle this time of year… especially if you’re working later and can’t always get your dog out before dark. That’s why I’m offering ad-hoc solo walks throughout Halloween and Bonfire Week 🐾✨

These walks are perfect for:
🐕 Nervous or reactive dogs who find fireworks, costumes, or sudden noises hard to cope with.
💛 Dogs who need a calm, positive experience before the evening chaos starts
🏡 Owners who can’t get home early from work or want peace of mind knowing their dog’s had a proper walk

Every walk is completely one-to-one, focused on your dog’s pace, comfort, and enrichment. I use positive handling and confidence-building techniques to keep them relaxed :.. no big group walks or high energy chaos, just calm, reassuring company.

Not your average dog walk… at The Crate Escape, we turn every outing into something special. Whether your dog needs calm one to one time, a full on sniffari adventure, Training walks or some extra care at home, we’ve got them covered.

Here’s what’s on the menu:
🐾 Solo Walks - perfect for dogs who love their own space or need a little extra TLC.
🐾 Adventure Enrichment Walks – two hours of solo sniffing, exploring, and burning off energy in gorgeous surroundings.
🐾. Chilled Day In – enrichment, comfort and care for females in season. Or for those post spay/neutered.
🐾 3-Hour Puppy Visits – enrichment, play, toilet support and gentle training for little ones from 8 weeks. Time limited to 3 hours to ensure puppy’s get their much needed rest.

☀️ Dogs + Warm Weather = Time to Get Clever ☀️

I know, the temp says “It’s fine, Gemma, go walk those dogs.” But I’m also not wearing a fur coat, walking barefoot on hot pavements, or panting like i just ran a marathon. It feels far hotter than it is today!

Dogs feel the heat much faster than we do. Add in bright sunshine, no breeze, and a nice dark tarmac path, and suddenly that “pleasant” day becomes a bit of a roast for them.

So on warmer days, I might make adjustments… Not because I’m being lazy, but because I’d rather your dog be happy chilling at home than recovering from heat exhaustion.

The temp on paper doesn’t always mean mild weather for paws, and I’ll always side with safety over step count.

if I change your dog’s walk plan, it’s because I want them happy, healthy, and very much not crispy. 🐾💛

From zoomies to lead manners, today’s been all about good walks, happy dogs, and a bit of training thrown in for good measure 🐾
Safe to say… they’ve all smashed it (and I hit my step count by lunch time 🤣)
