IMPORTANT - as im sure most of you already know royal mail are on strike yet again tomorrow. anybody who ordered after 1pm yesterday wont receive there order until at least friday. no deliveries or collections will be made by royal mail on thursday. there are plenty more upcoming strike days.
The industrial action will also continue on Thursday, the 20th and Tuesday, the 25th October 2022.
Please keep this in mind when ordering around these dates.

IMPORTANT - ROYAL MAIL STRIKES FRIDAY AND SATURDAY
Just a quick reminder about the royal mail strikes for this friday and saturday. we wont be able to send any orders out after wednesday 1pm due to them not getting delivered until at least monday. please keep this in mind when ordering and in my opinion i would get your orders in today or tomorrow at the latest to ensure royal mail will deliver them to you. thanks

Due to the queens passing im sure pretty much everyone will understand monday is now a national bank holiday. Any orders placed after 1pm friday wont leave us until the following tuesday.
Also for people who come in and collect orders, we wont be open to the public, we are just here for a short period to maintain the insects etc.
On another note royal mail are striking again on friday the 30th and saturday the 1st of september. We wont be able to post any orders via royal mail after 1pm on wednesday the 28th and thats at customers own risk. we offer a next day courier option now via apc which will still be available but the price is much higher so please keep this in mind when planning your livefood orders.

IMPORTANT - Please keep in mind royal mail are on strike again thursday and friday. This means we cant send any orders out after 1pm today. Any orders for just hardware will still be packed and sent out tomorrow but livefood orders will be held until the first avaiable opportunity to send them. We are now offering the option to pay for our next day courier APC logistics but the cost is quite alot more. This is the only way we will be able to get your order out on wednesday and thursday.

IMPORTANT UPDATE - Due to royal mail going on strike again on thursday the 8th and friday the 9th of september we have added a new postage option. You can now choose a next day courier option at the checkout. If you place an order monday to thursday before 1pm and choose this option we can now send it via our couriers APC logistics for it to arrive the next day before 4pm. This option wont be available on a friday due to saturday deliverys been to expensive. This may benefit when royal mail strike again if your desperate for your livefoods and want to make sure you get it next day. KEEP IN MIND any orders placed on the wednesday the 7th before 1pm wont get delivered until the very least the saturday by royal mail if not later. any orders placed after 1pm on the wednesday wont go out until the following monday.

IMPORTANT - please remember guys royal mail are on strike again today. any orders placed after 1pm yesterday will not leave us until tomorrow. we cannot ship anything today as we cant get our parcels collected. However if your local to us we can always pack your order without you having to place it online and you can collect. all our goods available on our website are in stovk and in store. IMPORTANT DELIVERY INFORMATION
Just a quick reminder to everyone. If you ordered after 1pm yesterday your order wont be getting shipped until monday. This is out of our control as royal mail are on strike today. we have arranged a special collection from royal mail on bank holiday monday to come and collect our weekends orders which we will pack with a skeleton staff on monday. hopefully these orders will get delivered tuesday. However royal mail are on strike again wednesday so if your orders dont come tuesday it will likely be thursday. if you order after around 3pm on sunday its not guaranteed your order will be packed until tuesday, which means the earliest delivery for you from royal mail would be thursday/friday.
Aside from that i hope everyone keeps this in mind and enjoys the upcoming bank holiday :)

NEW PRODUCT ALERT
We have some of the new ProRep rock caves in stock. Finally a cave that looks pretty realistic in a desert/rock set up compared to alot of other caves out there. These really feel like quality and are a good weight. Come in 4 sizes...small, medium, large and extra large. take a look on site for prices.
Also on another couple of notes... we have fruitfly cultures back in stock and we are also offering bulk waxworms packed on to eggcard instead of in the woodshavings. This should make them easier to pick and feed but may reduce the shelf life slightly as theres less substrate for them to hide in.

IMPORTANT - guys i would recommend getting your order in before 1pm today. if you order after royal mail would collect your parcel from us tomorrow but then wont attempt to deliver it until saturday. if it doesnt make it to you saturday it wouldnt get there until tuesday with it being bank holiday monday. royal mail are then on strike again wednesday....nightmare...get your orders in today to have the best hope of not being dissapointed.

It seems we have been told that royal mail will be going on strike on friday the 26th of august and wednesday the 31st of august. (this is the friday before the bank holiday and the wednesday after).
This means that they arent collecting our goods so no orders will be dispatched after 1pm on thursday the 25th of august until the following tuesday. Then after that no orders will be dispatched after 1pm on that tuesday until the thursday. I can understand this will cause problems but believe me when i say this is out of our hands and will cause us some big issues trying to get all our orders out aswell. Keep this in mind and try and order accordingly. We believe there may be another strike aswell sometime in the weeks following this one. We will keep you posted. PLEASE SHARE this post so everyone is aware as this will also affect your normal deliveries of goods and not just items from ourselves. thanks

Beardies dig! There's no doubt about it.
Beardie Life is made especially for arid species such as bearded dragons, made of a soil-sand stony mix that becomes compact when damp but doesn't retain excess humidity. HOT WEATHER WARNING!
As most of you should already know monday and tuesday next week are extremely hot days. I would advise against ordering livefood over the weekend or monday and tuesday morning to avoid it been shipped in this weather. Orders received will still be shipped unless told otherwise but orders for bulk bags of worms will not as they will just perish. I do however hope everyone enjoys the weather but....stay safe!

ProRep Bio Life Leaf litter is perfect for creating a secure hiding layer for animals such snakes, lizards, frogs, and salamanders. Simply add as decoration to the top layer of substrate to help create a natural forest environment. An essential addition to replicate the ‘litter layer’ within a bioactive enclosure.

The litter layer as well as providing security, aids in maintaining atmospheric and substrate moisture/humidity levels and most importantly it will provide the environment in which beneficial bacteria, fungi, and custodian insects such as springtails and wood lice will thrive and play their important role in your bioactive enclosure. In the ‘litter layer’ Bio Life Leaf litter will break down and be consumed providing much needed food to your plant life.

The litter layer within your enclosure should be at least 3-4cm deep but can be much deeper should you want to. The litter layer found in the natural habitat of many of the animals we keep will be 24-30cm at least. To create your starter litter layer, break up the leaf litter in your hands and scatter the fine pieces on top of a suitable substrate such as ProRep Bio Life Forest substrate to at least a 1cm depth. Give this a good spray to keep the layer in place. After this a layer of unbroken leaf litter can then be added. The fine layer will be broken down quicker and provide a layer for the custodians to hide, preventing them being quickly eaten by terrestrial inhabitants such as dart frogs. The unbroken layer will then provide cover and hiding places for your animals. A new layer of leaf litter should be added as the litter breaks down and is consumed at least every 4-6 months or when necessary. Ideally your ‘litter layer’ should be started at least 3-4 weeks before introducing your chosen species, but it is still possible to carry out this process with them already in the enclosure. Remember your custodians may require some extra feeding to keep them healthy and happy. ProRep Springtail food is the perfect accompaniment to ProRep Bio Life Leaf Litter.
