Very delayed update from last weekend.

Saturday we spent the day at Round Chimneys Farm, despite rain when we arrived it quickly cleared to give us a fab trailing day powered by coffee cake and other delicious offerings from there cafe. 9 teams working super hard in a farm environment with plenty of distractions to ignore.

Sunday was off to Devon for dog first aid with Allwinds Dog First Aid. A fantastic day with lots of information advice and support, which may have caused the day to be a little longer than expected but you can’t argue with more important knowledge being shared!

Sunday was not the loveliest of weathers but that doesn’t stop us.

We welcomed back Team Hettie who have had a year off trailing, Hettie was thrilled to be back and smashed her trails even when they took her inside a local toy shop!

8 other teams equally worked there paws off with mixed weather in a busy location with lots of contamination!

Wonderfully pleasant weather for trailing today 6 wonderful teams out this morning working on confidence, decoys, split trails and some rather well hidden mispers.

Also some super awesome sighthound pjs!

This location is nearly always windy making some challenging trails from the start.
Team Chilli worked on decoys/ mispers and when to indicate
Team Pippin had his first aged trail, and reinforcements that indication
Team Odie cemented his indication and worked around some big distractions
Team Callen got her nose in the game and showed some beautiful trailing behaviours

What a weekend!

Yesterday we attend paws around the park at sculpturebythelakes, a fabulous day where we got to meet some fantastic dogs and owners!

Today mantrailing in a busy rural location unfortunately the afternoon group only managed half a session before the weather turned very unpleasant and we called it a day.
Some fabulous work from all our teams, we covered tricky starts, junction work, building confidence and much more. We had a huge range of experience on the trail today but each trail is set according to the dog and that teams goals and progress ensuring everyone had a great day!

Ps. I’m often asked if the dog will remember if they have had some time off, one of todays teams hadn’t trailed for a year they came back today and it was as if they trailed last week!
So don’t think ‘it’s been too long!’

We managed to dodge the worst of the rain this evening with a lovely mix of teams

Team Domino and Esky started off a little unsure but by the end of their first trails of the night they were putting their humans line handling to the spanna tests.

Teams Mika, Freddie and Levi, gave worked some big junctions beautifully!

We are enjoying some unseasonable warm weather this week, whilst planning for the change in temperatures and daylight hours. These changes do not deter us on the trail. As the days get shorter we get the chance to trail in the dark - no peeking from the dogs or handlers on those sessions! The cooler conditions can also be preferable for some dogs, and those that feel the cold - they show off there impressive coat collections, last year we even had a Christmas dinosaur, who knows what fun the next few months will bring

sculpturebythelakesMonday saw another wonderful session with one of the most stunning venues by the lakes.
It was a lovely day and we gave each dogs the next small challenge of their Journey, whilst some worked on a polite indication, others had to pick the correct trailer layer, walking trail layers, some trails went along next to the river which always makes the trail a little more interesting due to it effects on the scent movement.

I will be back at this fantastic venue 28th Sep for their paws around the park event, it set to be a fabulous day, I hope to see many of you there!

What a wonderful afternoon for Mantrailing. The All Seasons team will power through almost any conditions but today’s were perfect.
Warm enough for handlers and not too warm for dogs, damp ground, but no rain and small breeze.
We used these conditions to our advantage to challenge each of the teams:

Team Dill are new ish to trailing but did their first ever scent article start, and navigated it without any problems.

Teams Jaffa, Cola, Whisky and Boudicca all had a go at trails with two people at the end so they had to pick correctly which one was THEIR trail layer; all 4 dogs did so with no problem.

Yesterday morning was a lovely Autumnal morning for trailing.

Wednesday morning meant a nice quiet session in term of other being about, and the location allows for us to push the dogs on working there junctions and turns even on a short trails.

Well done to all 5 teams, great work and enthusiasm as always.

Update!

The last few weeks have been super busy, hence the lack of updates, our all seasons mentality has been put to the test with a wide range of weather conditions.

We had two fabulous day with Kathryn from Trailing K9s who helped reaffirm our teams awesome foundations, troubleshoot and of course give us more ideas and inspiration which will crop up in our sessions going forward.

Great sessions last weekend with a wonderful mix of novice and experienced teams, wether working on learning the game, navigation junctions, building confidence or ignoring decoys we set all the teams up for success and they work their socks off!
