Stop command.‼️

My Buddy is just over 1 years old, we continue training everyday. Dogs can slip back into bad habits really easily. In public places we use “back up” this is when he is off lead, he knows to stop and wait until i tell him a release command. This is to ensure he knows when i call this command when he is 10m in front he also does this automatically to check in. It is essential we have a command if recall fails off lead especially around distractions. 🐾

The holiday season is full of joy, but it can also bring hidden dangers for our furry friends. As you deck the halls and celebrate, keep these common Christmas hazards in mind to protect your pup:

Toxic Foods 🍫
Watch out for chocolate, raisins, grapes, macadamia nuts, and xylitol (found in sugar-free treats). Even small amounts can be deadly to dogs. Make sure holiday snacks are kept out of reach!Christmas Tree Troubles 🎄
Pine Needles: These can puncture your dog’s stomach or cause blockages if ingested.
Water Additives: Tree water often contains preservatives or sap that are toxic to dogs.
Ornaments: Glass baubles and tinsel can cause injuries or blockages if chewed or swallowed.
Electrical Cords & Lights ⚡
Chewing on cords or light strings can result in burns or electric shocks. Use cord protectors and keep them out of reach.
Gift Wrap & Decorations 🎁
Ribbons, bows, and wrapping paper may seem like fun toys, but swallowing them can lead to dangerous intestinal blockages.
Stress from Guests 🏠

🐾 Help Your Dog Cope with Fireworks! 🎆

Fireworks can be stressful for our furry friends. Here are some tips to help your pup stay calm:

1. Desensitise: Play recorded firework sounds at a low volume and reward your dog for staying calm.
2. Safe Space: Create a cozy retreat for your dog with their favorite toys and blankets.
3. Calming Aids: Consider using pheromone diffusers or anxiety wraps to help soothe them.
4. Practice Commands: Keep their mind engaged with basic commands or tricks during the noise.
5. Stay Calm: Your energy matters! Stay relaxed and reassuring.
6. Avoid Punishment: Never scold them for being scared—offer comfort instead.

Using this command is for when recall fails or if you simply just want your dog to stop,wait and check in. This is a good technique for control and safety of your dog. You can use any cue for this command. 🐾 Dm us for any questions or if you would like some recall or safety command training.

2 sessions into recall and lead walking training and what a difference in Cooper. From pulling on the lead to good lead walking behaviour check ins and focus with the sit command. This is what makes my job so enjoyable, building a stronger bond with a dog and owner is the best feeling❤️🐾

Recall training is going fantastic with Oscar❤️Recall is a major training method in dog training , its a great method to gain control and always asking your pooch to check in and making sure they come on command back to you and around distractions.Oscar is on a long line if you are abit worried of letting your dog off lead longs line are a great way of teaching recall. 🐾🦮 Please contact for more training methods.
