Well this is going to upset a few people but it needs to be said!

One thing that has really baffled me running the rescue over the past few years and i wont miss about it is that most rescues have been seen to be-little, cause unnecessary drama, try and compete against one another, bitching and bulling its disgusting. Everyone is trying to do the same thing it's not a competition it's hard enough running a rescue as it is.

Grown adults bullying really are setting an example for themselves! How do you find the time for it? Give yourselves a head wobble and wake up. You're supposed to be supporting one another not battling against each other 😶🤯😡🤨

Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances out of my control we will have some of the rescues sadly available for adoption and sadly i will be closing down Fuzzy Furries once homes are found!

📌 IMPORTANT UPDATE 📌

Good evening all!

This is not a post i ever wanted to write but unfortunately i have been left with no choice but to make the very tough decision of stopping the rescuing of animals and taking intakes of surrenders, it should have happened last year but i tried and with so many different circumstances its now a definite decision to permantly close our doors 🥺

Fuzzy furries will continue as a sanctuary for now on for all current animals in our care making sure they live happy lives 🫶🏻

I hope you can continue to support us as a sanctuary and the animals in our care!

Which we have 30+ sanctuary animals here which need providing with food, water, bedding, medical expenses and so on.

If anyone would like to set up a direct monthly payment to support fuzzy furries sanctuary please pop us a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible!

From now on I won't be able to post as often but we are still here and will post as much as i can 💙

So please keep note we are CLOSED for RESCUES Permanently and will Continue as a sanctuary for all current animals in our care!

Meet the residents -

Dandy 🐾🐹

Dandy came into the rescue with Delilah as surrenders - owners could no longer commit to them.

We gave them a health check both pretty good health apart from dandy had a lump on his behind so we booked him in to be checked at vets, which we agreed to get it removed.

Dandy is now living very happily and healthy here at fuzzy furries, we are currently trying to find him a spayed female or boar companion 🐹🐹 or adoption if the right home is out there !

Hes a very laid back piggy but he can also be a little nervous so we occasionally handle so hes not stressed 🐾💙🐹

Quick notice: 👀

We've had a few incidents over the past year from people who have surrendered to us wanting updates daily, weekly, monthly etc we cannot do this, we agree for the first couple of weeks to keep you informed on how they have settled then that's it!
People who surrender their animals to us generally have no further rights to that animal (and that includes no further contact and no right to updates, etc unless of course there was an agreement signed that stated otherwise).
We are often reluctant to contact
adopters regarding requests such as yours since adopters may feel concerned that an animal’s prior “parent” will try to get an animal returned after seeing the animal, even if that is not the initial motivation. People who want to keep their animal but temporarily cannot do so due to different circumstances should consider finding a foster “parent” or boarding facility!

We are busy enough running the rescue and its many jobs daily we cannot justify it unfortunately.

Some may say this is unfair etc everyone is entitled to their opinions but please keep your opinions to yourself, we are doing a job and we cant just take time out of our day to treat people who have surrendered their animals to us as if they are freely boarding with us!

We will not tolerate abusive messages, harassment etc you will be blocked end of, for as long as the animals are in our care you will see on the page updates of rescues.

Meet the residents -

Just over a year ago we rescued Poppy, Pongo & Freckles 🐰

For those of you who missed their story here it is below 👇🏻

Poppy, Pongo & Freckles 🐰

Mum and 2 babies - rescued from disgusting living conditions in a tiny hutch or whatever it is with no water nor food, mum (poppy) couldn't even sit up, they were living in their own faeces and p*e. Nails were horrendous. Absolutely disgusting! 😡 I have no words what is wrong with people!!

Some photos to show below what they were living in!

Another two buns were also rescued from the same place that were in the two bays above the mum and babies thank you so much to lovely Jenna for rescuing them all I'm so glad I had the space to help out in taking on the mum and 2 babies.

Poppy has urine scolds all on her backend and legs and stained fur from sitting in urine. She's underweight which is understandable with no food & trying to feed two babies.

Pongo has a sore tail likely from sitting in urine or could be from being chewed from hunger & she is also underweight.

Freckles also has urine scolds & underweight.

It is believed the rabbits were going to be used most likely for eating!

UPDATE -

These guys have flourished from the day they arrived here at Fuzzy Furries, they are now a healthy weight and happy living their best lives in carrot manor!
Unfortunately a home was never found for this trio from time wasters to people being put off or not being confident enough to cater for poppy's leg as she still suffers from lasting effects from being so cramped in the box.

Poppy's leg is now treated for and she is perfectly healthy otherwise!

👌🏻 great post from Piggybanksanctuary ! Animals are not christmas gifts they are life long commitments 🐾🐹🐰

It's that time of year that rescues fear the most. come February intakes will be up, for many already struggling rescues. Who are still picking up the peices of the lockdown pets, and from backyard breeders, trying to make a few £££, without knowing the responsibility that comes with breeding.
Guinea pigs are NOT toys, they don't enjoy life alone, they need friends and not human ones.
The bare minimum cage size (RSPCA) For 2 females is 120x60cm and 2 males is 150x60cm but go bigger, that cage Is their whole world! ( in my opinion it should be at least 150x60cm 2 sows and 180x60cm 2 boars)
They require a complex diet, vegtables high in vitamin C and low in calcium as they cannot produce or store their own vitamin C. Hay needs to be avaliable at ALL times and pellets need to be given too.
Guinea pigs can be skittish, and an over infusiastic child can be extremely scary for them.
Guinea pigs are hard work, they p**p a million times a day, resulting in ALOT of cleaning.
They require work to hand tame them, this can take a while and the owners particularly, if they are children can get bored and feel because the piggy is running away from them, that the piggy doesn't love them. This is the main reason many many Guinea pigs get rehomed, dumped or worse. If you've made up your mind to get your child Guinea pigs, I ask that you do your research, don't rely on pet shops, most of their advice is to make a sale and not fully correct. Research research research! Do you have the time for multiple cage cleans a week? ( do not put that responsibility on a child) Do you have the funds? Guinea pigs are classed as exotic pets and require a specialist vet, these are extremely costly. The current price for neutering a male piggy is £100-200 as a reference. Consider pet insurance it's around £10 a month. We are here to help answer any questions you may have, we appreciate you reaching out. No question is a silly question in the care of an animal x

Happy Friday all 🐾

It's dropping below 0 degrees over the next few days so please make sure if you haven't already that your furries are protected from the elements making sure they still have ventilation!

Some tips below that may be helpful 🥶

• Extra bedding
• Check that the Housing is waterproof, draught proof and predator proof.
• Age of your pet, this could affect where to house over winter somewhere warmer would be ideal i.e heated shed, conservatory or spare room
• Ensure that the water supply cant freeze
• Provide a pet safe heat pad.
• Up to date clean out done ? Not living in damp conditions.
• Fresh hay, greens and pellets provided

We are happy to help in anyway, please ask for advice we will not judge.
