This gorgeous boy needs a forever home that will have the time for him. He is based in Norfolk and the owners are very sad to part with him but due to unexpected Illness they no longer have the time this chap needs!

Free training will be given by myself (Susie) to get this pup where he needs to be. Locally only of course or via zoom if out of area!

£300 It is with a heavy heart we are looking to find an experienced and forever home for our belgian malinois puppy. He is 6 months old. He is a lovely boy just requires more attention than I can give him.

Please please DO NOT walk your dogs in this weather, sometimes even early morning is too hot, and so can evenings, if you must walk your dog than do so when sun is down completely! The floors can be so hot it can burn paws, if you want to experience what a dog goes through in this heat, put on a thick fur coat and walk around, this is how they suffer in the heat! Please don’t attempt to take them travelling in the car at all, not even for a short journey, it’s not worth the risk! Keep them in a shade, plenty of fresh water and cool them down with a cold bath or hose pipe if necessary, bear in mind to run the hose pipe for a few minutes at first as the first initial water that comes out can be extremely hot due to the pipe being heated in the sun.

Keep those fur babies cool fur mums and dads 🐾🐾 💦

The worst thing we can do is treat our dogs like children.

We talk to them like they're toddlers, we pander to their every need "you don't like that prawn and salmon paté anymore. Ok so let's try this one", they turn their nose up and you find something else. You let them jump all over you, sleep in your bed uninvited, beg at the table, howl at you for treats, go outside in the garden to immediately stand there not wanting to go out (you know it!!!) And don't get me started on the selective hearing "get back here". "Come back this instance. You wait until we get home, "I'll be telling daddy about you" ."We can't leave them for too long they'll miss us"

All of this ⬆️ and more can be amusing and may be you even visualised yourself saying this stuff but dogs are the wolfs long lost cousin. To own one and to have one takes work, consistent training and a deeper understanding of their psyche.

They don't need comfy beds and sparkling collars. Harnesses with gold embossed name tags, louis vuitton rucksacks when they get to tired too walk or their nails painted.

They want leaders.
They want to feel safe in their pack.
They want someone to show them boundaries, limitations.
They want someone to turn to for direction.
They want stability.

Because without any of this, they become leaders; confused, hyper, aggressive, reactive, nervous you name it, they become it.

Training doesn't need to be hard, it just needs consistency.

💫💫Introducing our home visits. 💫💫
Let us know if you need some help. You do not need to be ashamed, or disappointed that you haven't got a perfect pup, you just need to own up and say "ok we've got to do something". PM us directly yo book in.

To harness or not to harness, that is the question 🤔

I get asked this a lot "my dog pulls on a walk. Do you offer 1:1's to stop this".

First of all. Are you using a harness?
Second thing is dogs perceive walks in a very different manner to us. To them it's a hunt and for many it's an anxious time.

"My dogs an angel indoors and turns into Tyson when we're out walking". We hear this a lot.

AND this is why we always say "no" to a harness if your dog pulls.

Getting the right lead is to important. VERY IMPORTANT!!!

Fact 1. If your dog pulls, a harness will make them stronger.
Fact 2. It actually damages their shoulder joints.
Fact 3. You have way less control of your dog in a harness.

If your dog pulls, it's essential you get to the bottom of why they're pulling. They will undoubtedly have other tell tale signs.

So get rid of the harness and get a simple slip lead. Different approach, more control and less pulling.

Do you pick your dog up when another dog comes along?
Or do you let your dog go up to other dogs uninvited?
Is your dog 20 feet in front of you? and pulling?
We often get told "Oh I can't do that with my dog. They'll hate me"
"my dog is fine, I don't know why he keeps getting into all these scuffs?"

The worry of another dog attacking your beautiful fur baby is a reality and especially when we have a lot of dog owners that are letting their dogs do what they want.

Listen to us on how we interact with our dogs, correct them and how your behaviour is cementing bad scenarios.

If you're in or around Canvey Island, please book in for one of our pack walks. You can message us on here for more details.

Any questions on dog behaviour, please feel free to reach out to us on our messenger.

⛔ Kids walking dogs!!! ⛔

Having a conversation with my friend this morning: "They couldn't have been more than 5 and were walking a cane Corsa!!!"

Most parents want to teach kids responsibility but in no way is it acceptable for a child to walk a dog without a parent.

Most of you know I went into this behaviour world whilst owning an Akita. I once saw children running towards me, whilst i was heavily pregnant and walking Winnie. I crossed the road and witnessed this frenchie pulling the kids along the road to get to him. I called across and said they needed to go home.

This morning I witnessed 3 children walking 2 cockapoos. When they saw my dog, one started getting a bit agitated. the kids immediately went up to it "ssh, it's okay. be a good boy"

We also have a very aggressive dog near our road who has beaten a couple of people and dogs.

It doesn't matter if your dog has never bitten anyone or isn't aggressive. You are allowing your children to make decisions that they may have zero control over.

Let's play out simple examples.

🐶 2 kids are walking a dog. Another kid comes along with her siblings and their dog. The dog wants to say hello to the other dog and drags them over. The other dog feels it needs to protect the kids so gets into a scuffle. You've now got these children trying to sort out a fight.

🐶 A dog sees a cat and runs across the road.

🐶 A dog slips its lead and runs out in front of a car. the kids follow.

I'm not one for "anticipating" but I do wonder what would happen if an aggressive dog got out and these children (who were no more than 7 years old) had to deal with it. Doesn't bear thinking about.

It isn't the kids job to walk the dogs, regardless of whether you want them to be responsible or not. A parent needs to be with them at all times. You need to lead by example and never allow a dog to make a decision on your child's behalf. It may not end well. Which is a good segway into our child friendly courses.

In the summer we will be teaching children how to approach and interact with dogs and be leaders.

Kids need the same respect, boundaries and limitations as dogs. Be a parent and look after your kids!!

PS, if you think your children could really do with this sort of training, then PM us. Our job is always educating the human - dogs only ever think they need to make decisions when they're in a leadership role.

PPS, this is me aged 5 loving "Satan"! My uncle's dog.

Had THE BEST morning meeting some of our new doggy friends...and their owners of course 😂

All our classes are designed to teach us humans how to lead and interact with our dogs. Of course we have the basic stuff but what's more important is that we understand how to take the lead as that's all they want from us.

Remember there's only ever an issue when the dog thinks they're the leader.

Our classes start 24th April. We have various classes for all dogs so please message us to book in. 📧📨

Does small dog syndrome actually exist? Is it a thing?

"I'm sorry. He has small dog syndrome".
"It's like he hates all big dogs. He must have Small Dog Syndrome".

We've all met someone who has said this haven't we.

First of all, dogs have zero idea of their size. That's why you'll get a chihuahua trying to play with a great Dane!!

Simply put. If a big dog jumps up, it can knock you over. Same behaviour with a small dog wouldn't have the same impact yet it's still undesirable and most owners do not correct it or do any training for the smaller dog. Same behaviour for a person owning a big dog, will be mortified and go to a training school as it's knocked the owners aunt into a pond (true story when I had my Akita!).

Exact same behaviour but very different perspectives for both owners.

Small dogs need the same consistency as bigger dogs. However due to the size, we often don't notice or correct the behaviour.

Small dog syndrome is definitely a thing but it's us humans that need to realise why they're doing what they're doing.

What we want is a consistent approach for all dogs so they don't cause harm or worry.

Dobt forget to message us about our free event tomorrow at 10am. Everyone is welcome. PM us for more details.🐶🐕

Nice little guest appearance from Susie's dogs this morning. Dogs will always tell us if there's a problem dog. They can teach us so much.🐕

Meet Rosie 🐕🐶 a Spanish mastiff who was giving her mummy grief on the lead.

I forgot to do a before shot but safe to say Rosie done incredibly well with her lead training today. 💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽

Always remember, any behavioural problems are a result of the dog thinking they're the leader.

For our weekly trainings, 1:1's, please DM us.📨

Just going through my old dog training manuals and found this beauty. If we only recognised that dogs need boundaries, limitations and consistency, we wouldn't have half the issues.

When dogs are the leader of their pack, this is where problems arise.

It's up to us to lead them.

Remember on Sunday (10th April) we're doing a meet and greet (look in the event section) where you can come along and discuss any issues you're having.🐕🐶
