Hunters Horse Transport up to a value of £10,000. Entering into a booking deems acceptance of this level of cover. We also advise that you insure your animal for transportation
Terms and Conditions
While every effort is made to make every journey safe and comfortable for every horse , Hunters horse transport will be
transporting the Client’s horse(s) at the Client’s own risk. These conditions take into account the Client’s obligation to take out the appropriate insurance for their horse. We strongly recommend that insurance is in place at all times to cover the loss or injury of any horse(s) which are being transported on the Client’s behalf. Hunters horse transport does not take responsibility for any injury/death to the Client’s horse (unless the Company is deemed negligent). The customer warrants that each equine in the consignment has been properly described when booking transport and does load and travel without concern. The customer will be as honest as possible about the horse’s previous experiences (good & especially bad) and if the transporter arrives and feels the need to refuse to transport a horse, has the right to do so and the pre-agreed cost for transport will be paid in full by the customer. You the customer are personally liable for your horse during transport. All horses and ponies MUST always have their passport with them when being transported. This is a legal requirement under the Horse Passports (England) Regulation 2004. Only exceptions is emergencies ( bet care , rescue )
Collection
Full address incl contact numbers must be provided for collection / drop off off horse / pony etc
Dates / Times will be agreed ,
Although times are estimated due to unforeseen circumstances , traffic etc and won’t be held responsible for this .( pick up or drop off )
Veterinary Treatment
Every safety precaution will be thoroughly checked and undertaken before each journey to ensure a safe, relaxed and comfortable journey. In the event that the Client’s horse(s) becomes too unsettled to continue or in the event that the Client’s horse(s) is taken ill; the Company reserves the right to contact the nearest Veterinarian available, for treatment or sedation if this is deemed necessary, to continue with the journey safely and to maintain the welfare of the Client’s horse(s). The Client will be deemed liable for any Veterinary expenses and any delays/increase in mileage as a result. Damages
You the customer ( owner of horse ) are entirely liable to cover the cost of repairs if our box is damaged by your horse. You have the opportunity to inspect the vehicle before departure and agree any damage, as arguments will not be entered into later. Any damage will be repaired by a company chosen by us as the transport vehicle must meet the manufacturer's specifications. General wear & tear is acceptable & expected however any rips, tears, deep kick marks into the rubber matting will be charged back to the owner. The driver takes all reasonable precautions; however, in the event of an accident please note that you are personally liable for your horse in the event of injury or damage sustained to or by your horse. A time frame of 30 minutes will be given to load the horse, after this, a charge of £25 per half hour will be added. Whilst every effort will be made, In the rare event of the horse being incapable of being loaded, the full cost agreed for transport plus waiting time will be paid in full by the customer. All bookings must be made by an adult over the age of 18. Any bookings made for a under 18 must have a parent or guardian with them at all times. Liability is not accepted for loss of entry fees or any other related expenses in the event of delayed or cancelled journeys for any reason. If you are unable to provide a haynet for your horse, please let us know in advance so we can. Loading & travelling your Horse
Please ensure there is ample room for us to turn our lorry around on arrival. It is the owner’s responsibility to have the horse in correct travel gear. We cannot guarantee to always be able to lend equipment. If we are collecting a horse from a seller (someone on your behalf) please ensure they are aware of the collection time, any delay on them preparing your horse for travel will be subject to our waiting charge policy. Payment
A deposit is required by the Company in order to secure the Client’s booking & requested date of travel. All bookings taken are on a first come first serve basis. All deposits taken are non refundable with the exception of when cancellation is made within 7 days of the date of transport.( unless on a shared trip)
Full payment is to be made prior to the date of transport unless the Company and the Client has agreed for payment to be made otherwise. By making payment to the Company, the Client fully understands and accepts the Terms and Conditions. Unfortunately until the deposit is received we cannot guarantee your booking. Cancellations
If the Client wishes to cancel the transportation of their horse(s) and end the agreement between the Company and Client at any point; they reserve the right to do so. If the Client ends the agreement within 7 days of the date of transport they will be subject to a cancellation fee of 25% of the total cost of transport:
* The deposit made by the Client will be retained by the Company as payment for the cancellation fee.
* In the event of no deposit being made by the Client, the Client will be invoiced for the cancellation fee. If the Client ends the agreement within 24 hours prior to, or on the date of transport they will be subject to full payment of the total cost of transport. Hunters horse Transport will endeavour to only end the agreement when absolutely necessary or in an emergency. In this event, the Client will be entitled to a full refund of any payment made. Moving / transfer of date
If you need to move your booking we require a minimum of two weeks notice . It is a legal requirement for all horses/ponies/donkeys to travel with their passport. No refund will be given once booking made and customer fails to provide passport for transportation . Snow & Ice
In the interest of your horses safety and ours, the lorry does not go out in snow or icy conditions. In any case of severe weather your booking shall be transferred to another date. COVID Cancellation Policy
In the case of increase Covid restrictions / lockdown / tier system that may affect your transport booking, please rest assured that your deposit shall be moved to a new date where these restrictions have been lifted. By accepting a quote from Hunters Horse Transport and confirming a booking the customer agrees to the Terms & Conditions outlined above.
