Pawfect offers breed standard styles and bespoke styles to suit your lifestyles and specific preferences. We strive to create a calm and collective atmosphere inside our salon to ensure your dogs have the most positive experience with us. We use the latest state of the art equipment to reduce stress from noise and sensation from our Bathing station, High Velocity Dryers and our Clippers. Each of t

hese tools have been chosen for their outstanding performance and the minimal stress they put on the dogs themselves (i.e. Each dog is treated like they are our own and receive breaks from the groom at the first sign of stress. We are able to give this level of service as we allow extra time between our grooms so we can ensure each dog receives the highest level of care, love and attention and above all has a safe stay with us. When your dog is with us it is never left alone, put into a cage and is free to roam our salon and garden area before, after and during the groom if required. This method gives the dog time to familiarise their new environment and feel safe and secure with us. (they also get a chance to play with their new groomer friends). Our salon is a calming environment where your dogs will feel relaxed and stress free creating a spa like retreat for them. We will only take a maximum of two dogs at any one time. (Multi dogs households are welcome on same visit). Please advise your groomers if your dog is fearful of other dogs as we can accommodate his/her needs.

🐾🐾 NEW SALON 🐾 NEW LOCATION 🐾🐾

Back in July 2022 we made the decision to put our home on the market and buy somewhere where we can move our business to our own home. After several failed sales and purchases we finally moved in December 2023. After 16 months of architects, planning permission, finding a builder, getting the build done and acoustic tests…… we’re FINALLY ready to move the business over.

🐾 From MONDAY 19th MAY 2025 all appointments will be at the new address:
36 Manners Way, Southend, SS2 6PT 🐾

Please allow enough time to get to our new address for both drop off and pick up. We have strict conditions from the local authorities including opening hours so please be on time. Late arrivals will have to be rescheduled. If you arrive early for your appointment, please remain in your car until your time as we do not have the space to take your dog in early.

If you have a 9:30 appointment and the garage doors are closed. Please do not panic, we will open them ready for your appointment.

Parking is supplied on our large driveway. On street parking is also available if you prefer. Please respect our neighbours and DO NOT park across our neighbours driveways, not even for 2 minutes. Anyone caught doing this will be removed from our client list and not invited back.

Coming from the Cuckoo corner roundabout, heading in the direction towards Southend Airport you will find us on the right hand side of the road. A yellow bungalow with a large tree outside. Please look out for the paw print on the entrance door.

🐾🐾 2025 Diary is now open! 🐾🐾

🐾🐾 Changes for 2025. Please read 🐾🐾

As we are getting to the time of year when clients are asking to bulk book for next year, we have opened up the diary for 2025. If you wish to pre-book your grooms for 2025, please send us a text or let us know at your next appointment. We have opened the diary up to December 2025. We are starting to compile a list of everyone’s dates already so please just let us know if you wish to be added to the list. If you wish to only pre book 6 months in advance please let us know. As per previous years we will work our way through the list and send you your 2025 dates. We will be doing this during our evenings and days off so please bear with us.

We always recommend bulk booking your appointments if you prefer certain days or times of day as we can not guarantee these month on month.

🐾🐾 Changes to 2025 🐾🐾

As the majority of our lovely clients know, we have been in the process of moving the business to our home address. We have been granted planning permission but with some strict conditions, one being we are no longer able to open on Saturdays.

As we plan on moving the business across in early 2025 (we are just waiting on our builder). To make the transition of the diary easier for us, we will build the diary to coincide with our new opening times and days so will therefore no longer have Saturday appointments available from January 2025. We do completely appreciate that this will come as a huge disappointment to some of our clients but we hope you can understand we have to work within the new conditions set out by the council. As always, we will of course try and accommodate everyone where possible.

We will inform everyone with plenty of notice when we will be moving across so please continue to come to our salon on South Avenue for the time being.

We will be closed from Saturday 7th September to Wednesday 18th September for some annual leave.

We will be away but will check in with messages occasionally throughout our time off to try and keep on top of them but there will be a delay in our replies.

We are now closed for an Easter break and will reopen on Tuesday 2nd April. We will tap into the work phone messages from time to time to catch up in between eating our body weight in Easter eggs 😂 so there may be a slight delay in coming back to everyone.

We couldn’t not post this without saying a sad goodbye to one of our lovely regulars who’s moving up north and this week was his last groom with us 😢 Murphy has been with us since we very first started and we both adore this little man (to the point we used to argue over who was grooming him 😂). He’s a pleasure to groom and an absolute darling to have in the salon. We will definitely miss you…. and of course catch ups with Mum. See you later Murph 😘

Can anyone guess what this cut is called? (It’s a modified version).

The little chap was only in for a bath and brush today to see how he gets on with the process….. of which he absolutely smashed it, even at 7 months old.

Let’s talk jumpers, coats and fleeces…..

Curly coated dogs (Poodles, Cockerpoos, Cavapoos, Bichon, Bichon mixes etc) please read:

We are seeing a huge increase in dogs wearing jumpers, coats and fleeces in this cold weather and whilst we are not against putting your dogs in these to keep them warm and dry in the cold wet weather. Please please please remember to brush AND COMB your dogs as soon as you get home if they’ve been wearing them. Putting any type of coat, fleece and jumper on a curly coated dog will cause friction with the clothing rubbing on their coat as they move about whilst out walking and this friction causes matts in their coats.

Unfortunately we’ve had to shave down a lot of dogs very short this winter as their fur was matted so badly, shaving them down was the only option.

As most of our clients know, we hate shaving down dogs. However, whilst we don’t like shaving them down, if their coat isn’t properly maintained between grooms and they’ve worn some sort of clothing it will cause matts and the kindest option is to shave the coat off and start again.

When brushing your dog, please make sure the brush pins are reaching right down to the dogs skin and you’re not just brushing the top layer. Once you’ve have brushed them all over, please then run a comb through their coat. Remember, if the comb doesn’t go through the coat you need to continue brushing until it does. We always recommend a slicker brush and a long tooth comb.

Our scissors are down and taps are turned off for another year and now it’s time to spend our favourite time of year with some of our favourite people.

Thank you to all our amazing customers for this past year, we wouldn’t be where we are without all of you and we really appreciate you all so so much.

Thank you for our lovely gifts and cards this year, we will make a start on working our way through them from this evening. 🍷🍫

As always, we’d like to take this opportunity to remember all the fury friends that have crossed the bridge this year, including Wayne’s parent’s dog Dexter. We’ll never forget you and your paw prints really touched our hearts.

We are now closed until Monday 8th January.
