🙏 DEPOSITS DUE FOR JULY AND AUGUST - PLEASE READ 🙏

Due to a number of no shows, we will be cancelling all bookings in July and August where we haven't received a deposit.

We have a waiting list for many of the dates, and it isn't fair to our loyal customers when we save a space for people who ignore our requests for a deposit and subsequently don't turn up.

We have tried so hard as a business to keep our rates affordable in the cost of living crisis, with electricity, gas and dog food prices going through the roof, and every time somebody doesn't show up without giving reasonable notice it impacts on our ability to continue to invest in the facilities we provide to your dogs and cats and our rescue dogs.

🐶 WOULD YOU LIKE TO VOLUNTEER WITH OUR RESCUE DOGS? 🐶

As some of you will be aware, we now have rescue kennels (The Happy Dog Haven) in Southport, Merseyside. We have several of our rescue dogs in the kennels who are looking for a new home, and are in various stages of rehabilitation.

Can you help us to help them? Do you live locally and have a few hours to spare?

Full training will be given. It's really rewarding and, if you are looking for a career working with animals, volunteering is a great first step to gaining experience.

One of our amazing staff members, Alex Bailey, is doing an abseil at 12pm on 9th December at Anfield Stadium where she will be abseiling down the Main Stand to raise funds to go towards the cost of Geordie's surgery.

Geordie is one of The Responsible Dog Rescue C.I.C. dogs who is living at The Happy Dog Haven. Last week Geordie suffered a terrible injury whilst playing and has severe damage to his ACL. He needs surgery urgently to fix this, to be able to have a chance at a happy life and get back back to being the sweet loving happy boy he is. Currently he cannot walk, he cannot play with his friends and he is in pain!

The Responsible Dog Rescue, run out of The Happy Dog Haven on Crowland Street in Southport, is a rescue that works to save and rehabilitate dogs across the world. We have rehabilitated and rehomed over 1300 dogs from some of the most horrendous situations since 2019.

We are currently assisting with a terrible situation in Tecuci, Romania, where the public shelter, which houses all of the city's stray dogs, is closing in November. Any dogs left in the shelter at this point will be killed - and not humanely. The shelter currently houses over 300 dogs. One of our rescue partners, a charity called Hope4Paws who works nearby, has offered to take a significant number of the dogs, but it will leave them in a terrible position in terms of being able to provide food and bedding to them.

Can you provide any food or bedding for the dogs? A van is dropping one of the dogs off with us on Saturday and will be able to collect donations to take them back.

We need:

1. Good quality food (wet or dry)
2. Clean blankets
3.Plastic beds

If anybody can help it would be amazing. I know it is a tough time for all, but if you have anything lying around we would be incredibly grateful.

Donations can be dropped off at The Happy Dog Haven between 9 and 5.
