Limited days left for dog walking before Christmas, I am taking a few days off to be with my family.

Please keep you dogs warm on there walks.

Remember I offer dog walking, I have jackets and jumpers for them and am happy to put any paw balm on after walks and feet washed.

A good indicator is if you are cold you Dog will probably be feeling the cold to.

KEEP YOUR DOGS WARM THIS WINTER

DOG COATS
Skinny and thin coated dogs can benefit from a warm jacket. Be careful of putting a coat on a fluffy dog though as it can actually stop their fur trapping heat by pushing out the air in their coat that works as natural insolation.

KEEP ACTIVE
Movement will generate body heat so keep your dog active when outside.

ROAD GRIT
Be aware of chemicals such as grit and salt on the roads as it can be an irritant to a dog’s paws and pads, and their noses too when they are sniffing. Ice and snow can also cause irritation.

PAW PROTECTION
There are some brilliant balms on the market to protect paws and pads from cold conditions. Sensitive dogs will benefit from dog-friendly booties to keep their pads protected in the cold weather.

SHORTER WALKS
If your dog is not used to the cold it is important to stick to shorter walks to start off with until they get used to it. Heading outside during the warmer part of the day (11am-3pm) is also a good place to start.

⚠️BE AWARE⚠️
Important signs of cold related illness to watch out for include shivering, whining, reluctance to move, holding paws up, seeking warmth, or acting disoriented. If you see any of these, head home immediately and warm up. If symptoms continue, please contact a vet for guidance.

Come Rain or Shine and everything inbetween I will be out walking.

I have coats to keep your dog warm why out and towels to dry off at the end of the walk.

6pm - 7pm beginners
715pm - 815pm Advanced

From Monday 11th I will be offering dog walking to both new and old clients.

There are a few different options available see below.

1 Hour single walks - £10
30 Minute single walks - £5
1 Hour group walks for up to 4 dogs from the same household - £20
30 Minute group walk for up to 4 dogs from the same household - £15
15-30 Minute garden visit/play (Good for Puppies) - £5

What an amazing class tonight well done to all.

A special well done to Teal and her owner our most improved at class.

I met teal and her owner in the summer, after a phone call explaining how she was unable to walk teal due to her reacting to other dogs on the lead, she felt like she was at a loss.

After 3 one to one sessions teal was walking past most things with out reacting.
Teal has now been coming to class for 7 weeks and tonight was the first time she walked in quietly and got on with the tast at hand ignoring all the others around her.

Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) - Dog Control 🐕

Sefton has beautiful beaches, sand dunes, parks, and open spaces for residents and visitors. We want everyone to enjoy these areas and for them to be safe and welcoming environments for all, including dog walkers.

The PSPO applies to anyone that is in charge of a dog in certain areas within Sefton. The requirements include cleaning up after your dog, keeping dogs on leads in designated areas, and more.
