Beautiful poppy keeping mobile at 12. Non Impactive and safe exercise.
Not feeling overwhelmed in a pool and being able to control the speed all 4 limbs are moving.
Gait analysis during treatment allows changes to be made to the speed, buoyancy and hydrostatic pressure. No steep or slippery inclines in or out of the treadmill reduces the risk of slips or trips especially when arthritis or Spondylosis are present in the spinal cord.

Building back up his strength and stifle use,, encouraging a good gait pattern and increasing his range of motion, after double Tplo surgery. (Tibial-plateau-leveling osteotomy)

Handsome Charlie, well on his way to a full recovery, after TPLO surgery.
TPLO, or tibial-plateau-leveling osteotomy, is a surgery performed on dogs to stabilize the stifle joint after ruptures of the cranial cruciate ligament. In the vast majority of dogs, the cranial cruciate ligament ruptures as a result of long-term degeneration, whereby the fibres within the ligament weaken over time.
Hydrotherapy can result in significant gains in strength, ROM, function, and overall cardiovascular fitness.

This gorgeous French bulldog has numerous conditions, including patella luxation and spinal disc rupture. Damage to several of his vertebrae means his spine is now curved. To keep him comfortable and safe in the water, his hardness is fitted bigger.
He has regular treatment sessions to keep him moving, maintain his core strength and encourage him to use muscle groups, he wouldn't use on land movement.
Hydrotherapy will also help maintain the range of motion as arthritis develops with age and allow him to have a longer, more comfortable
life.

More balanced treatment for patients with multiple issues (multiple joints, muscle atrophy, etc.)
Support for weak patients (able to move better in water than on land)
Less intimidating than swimming for patients who are fearful of water (The water fills slowly from the bottom)
Gentle and low impact enough for post-surgical patients (2 weeks post-op in some cases)
