Some more muzzle training photos from our groups this week. We finally found a muzzle where we can also deliver the treats to Ola the French Bull Dog, while she is still wearing it.

Muzzle training - make it positive, make it fun so that IF you are asked e.g. at the vets or groomers, to muzzle your dog, it won’t be traumatic for you and your dog.
Please note: the muzzle used in the video is only suitable for use short term. Basket muzzles where a dog can open their mouths to pant etc. need to be used for a dog to wear when out walking.

We’ve been busy in classes again this week, building confidence and social skills with the dogs. This included helping these two beautiful Eurasier pups gain valuable experience by watching, hearing and smelling the scent of other dogs. The pups are 7 weeks old and not yet fully vaccinated but their savvy breeder knows that the pups need to experience being around other dogs and people. Having the buggy to keep them safe is ideal as they can still be taken out and about until they are able to walk and mix with other dogs at ground level.
Thank you to the humans in the class too, who helped meet and greet the pups - I know it was a struggle but you took up the challenge! 🤣⭐️❤️🐾🐾

I had a lovely couple of hours in Boston today with Bo & Evie, meeting up with a friend for lunch. Evie hadn’t done a lunch date before so I thought it was time to give it a go. I was so impressed with my two, walking through Boston, visiting the park, walking past other people and other dogs - the training certainly paid off. In the cafe the girls were quiet, stayed on the floor while we ate - then we gave in and allowed them on our laps as the floor was soooh cold! Looking forward to our next lunch date. This could become a habit - all in the name of essential skills training for my dogs! 🤣😊 🐾🐾

Monty started group sessions with us 7 years ago! To celebrate, this lovely chocolate Lab brought a truly scrumptious chocolate cake to share with all the humans in his agility group. He also brought treats for all his four legged friends too.
Monty had no impulse control, social skills or voice control when John & Lauraine adopted him - ear plugs were a must when travelling with Monty!!But he has learnt so much and is just the best natured dog you could wish for. He’s also a fabulous demo dog for the agility course too. Well done to John & Lauraine for persevering and for giving Monty such a lovely life. ❤️🐾🐾⭐️
And thank you for the cake too!

If you have visitors coming to Lincolnshire and they’re looking for a peaceful place to stay I can highly recommend this property. Fabulous views, lovely host and it’s dog friendly too. What’s not to like! 😊🐾🐾

Both Katie and I agree - it’s great to be back at ‘work’ 😁🐾🐾
The classes have been good fun and I’ve also been busy with 1:1 training this week and it was great to be able to do the APDT Good Companions assessments with a couple of the dogs.
Lilith passed her Improver Award on Thursday and Alice passed her Improver Award on Friday. Well done Team Lilith and Team Alice! ⭐️🎉🐾🐾

Lovely to be back running the classes today with Katie. Great to see all the clients and their lovely dogs. 😍
As part of our classes this week we are scanning the dogs to check their micro chip. It’s a good idea to keep a note of your dog’s chip number with you at all times. We did find one dog whose chip didn’t show up on the scanner so it is a worthwhile exercise for us to do. The owner is now aware of this and will visit their vet to get this sorted. Checked the chips on these two, just to be sure! 👍 😊 🐾🐾

The overall top dog and human team award for 2024 goes to Sally and Myles 🎉⭐️🏆🦴❤️🐾🐾
Sally has worked so hard to help Myles to focus, walk on a lead, and keep calm around visitors to the home. Plus, Myles has learnt to play with other dogs too! This team have achieved so much but only through time, patience and dedication. Well Done Sally - you so deserve our Top Team award! 🥇 🏆⭐️🦴❤️🐾🐾

Every December Katie and I have the difficult task of choosing the top dog from each class for our awards. 🤨 🏆🦴⭐️ We look at the progress of each dog - with other dogs, humans, tasks, play, socialisation etc. We also consider the dedication from their humans and the positive impact on other dogs and humans. 🧐 The stress is real!!!🫣🤔
