Pacha's Animal & Bird Refuge

Pacha's Animal & Bird Refuge We are a couple with numerous rescue animals in our care, we have had many a wild guest passing through throughout the years.

We have moved to Cambridgeshire and are now hoping to be able to provide a greater refuge for wildlife and animals in need of a safe space for recovery. We are versatile with facility to accommodate most animals and have various degrees of experience (depending on species) with handling, treating minor wounds, hand rearing, dealing with heatstroke/exhaustion. We also have some ties to other more s

pecialist rescues and organisations to whom we will translocate if we feel a level of specialism is required. Either way we always do whatever we can and whatever is judged best for the animals. It is our hope to be able to bring about more recovered, well and safe creatures through whatever means we can.

This little swift was brought our way recently. We quickly realised that this is a special case. None of our rearing formulas or methods are suitable for swifts. They are amazing birds that can stay aloft for months at a time. Even sleeping whilst in the air.

If you find one do not attempt to feed or release it. You can contact us or Swift & Swallow SOS- Coordinating Rescues & Supporting Finders directly so advice can be given and the nearest equipped specialist can be contacted. They were very quick and efficient at making sure this little bird got the care it needed!
